Why does no one use the in-game voice system?

It’s not bad, sometimes disconnects if your partner is from Ragnaros or Azralon for some reason. But it’s super useful. I’ve met like 3 people total that even knew it existed. It would help in raids, pvp, everything sooo much if people used it as freely as they do in fortnite or pubg

Honestly I dont know why. At least for pugs you’d think it would be easier than forcing people to join discord. I was quite impressed with the quality when i discovered during the tail end of legion.

The last time I tried it the sound sounded like a 1980’s drive-through speaker. I thought I was telling the party that I needed to take a short break and the response was “99 cents at the second window.”

Today, I simply don’t have anyone to talk to in game. Plus I spend my day talking to people and the game is somewhere that I can withdraw from the world and not have to deal with people.

Cause I don’t wanna talk to anyone.

I use it when i need to be in 2 chats at once, like guild meetings in a discord i’ll mute myself and use in-game chat to talk during a key or joining a random pug raid discord and wanting to talk to the 3 or 4 people i signed up with separately.

The quality isn’t great or super stable for me, so i only use it for niche situations like that.

Why would you use it when Discord is objectively better in every possible way and has more functionality on top of being better than WoW voice in every way?

i guess but the simplicity is way nicer, no one in any other multiplayer game really does that, other than high end competetive stuff. obv for guild runs and glad pvp sure, but random games would be way more fun if people actually talked.

i feel like wow is super isolated rn

Imagine the voice chat when pugging mythic+ :joy:

I don’t see a reason why honestly. I think it’s like people are in Discord anyway for other stuff, music, chatting, memes, videos, etc.

If WoW had this good of voice chat in Wrath I bet people would have used it a lot more because Vent was total trashcan status with quality.

haha this is great, but accurate. That was my experience as well, so we opt not to use it. And really, why bother when there is discord.

sad stuff, i wish people were more confident

Because they don’t record it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Besides why the hell would I want to talk to anyone? I need music, brainwork and press buttons. Talking on top of that makes zero sense.

Talking to anyone below mythic raid/+20/2400 is better served by playing better.

Also somethings people can say when not in your guild is yikes.

I only play with my guild. We use discord. The in-game voice is just QoL if you are pugging.

Wow is super isolated because you don’t play with friends and if you did using discord is objectively better than using the wow voice.
