What is the incentive to do any tier that offers a “Nemesis Strongbox”, when it rewards trash items? Going through all the trouble to…wait, let’s stop there.
Why would doing a Delve be defined as “going through all the trouble”?
That’s the first problem right there, the Delve is a NOT FUN to begin with.
It’s a pain in the lower-hind quarters.
So why do it?
To promise of rewards. The need for better gear, especially, if there are ZERO world quests offering any gear rewards, Siren’s Isle still gives Season 1 items, you can’t do Season 2 LFG because your gear level is too low, and Season 1 Dungeons rarely drop any item that is better than what you have -let alone any items at all, and you can’t level up Season 1 gear because that was (unfairly) turned off rendering all your items and stones useless and stuck as the iLevel they are at.
So, go through long Delve, which are just as long as dungeons these days, and try a higher tier which offers a Nemesis Strongbox if you defeat special elites. OK. Win at all of that.
Receive from box:
Idol of Ansurek! -OOOooh! Wooooow!..wait, it’s a GREY item worth 30g at the vendor? It’s not an actual piece of equipment? Huh?
Also get from the other chests:
Ripped Shawl - 20g grey item
Bag ’ Old (38g)
Fractured Spike (useless)
a Combat Curio.
YEP, quite unfairly extremely unrewarding.
What is is the value proposition these days?

Is WoW is turning into World of Casino-craft? - a really crummy casino, all glitz, and doesn’t even have the courtesy to provide a good buffet?

I’ve gotten warbound gear out of mine before, transmog items, etc… from my nemesis chests.
The only disappointing ones I have gotten are when I don’t kill all the elites and get a gray chest.
Also I think the extra bonus rewards, even if it’s just vendor trash, is far better than the Zekvir empowerments. Those were just tedious.

The Nemesis Strongbox is a bonus for killing all of the Underpin minions you find. It’s not the main reward of doing Delves.

They give extra runed crests and a big chunk of Brann xp if you aren’t capped on that yet.

- acquiring better curios is an intended progression system for Brann to push harder in delves
1.5) the box also contains Brann experience
- the real rewards for doing higher tiers of delve content is the champion&hero gear pieces, the gilded crests (up to 31 a week), and the vault slots (for up to IL 649, I believe). The Nemesis box in an “extra” in the context of player rewards for most folks.
Edit: now, if your complaint is that there’s too much useless grey loot in that chest (and other areas of the game) that’s not worth nearly enough gold to be worth the time it takes to vendor out of our bags to prevent them filling up with useless junk…I’m right there with you (although an auto-seller has done wonders for my sanity in that regard)

Also it’s called a NEMESIS box, why would your nemesis give you anything good? They hate you.
Posts like this one make even I feel like I’m a gatekeeper if I comment because it’s usually the OP just not understanding something about whatever they’re complaining about rather than an actual problem with the game.

What’s to “gatekeep”? Just to run interference to counter-claim by resorting to simply declaring one doesn’t know what they’re talking about? Where’s the support to back this up? The subject is literally about the item is unrewarding due to it dropping a grey item, and the example was given. Idol of Ansurek is a 30g grey-item, you can look it up on Wowhead.
Anyhoo - the strongbox is advertised as “upgradable”, but if it was not upgraded, would it have dropped a less-valuable grey item, maybe worth 10g? Ouch.
But it drops more than a grey item
Exaggeration and misinformation isn’t gonna get delve loot buffed even more. When it’s already crazy good.

It’s free loot. RNG can be a component in any chest. Do an 11 and kill all the underpin groups and it’s a purple chest with half decent stuff in it. You get bonus XP for Brann, more runed crests, among other things.

There’s the issue right there: You don’t like Delves to begin with, so the Nemesis chest holds nothing of value to you from the get go.
Those who enjoy Delves for what they are like Nemesis chests for the Brann XP, the chance for better curios they haven’t collected yet, some Runed crests, and a bit of progression along the Delver’s Journey track.
If Delves are just a chore for you, Nemesis chests won’t satisfy you at all.

It awards more crests, which in the long run is the most important reward.
Why would you avoid killing something? Exterminate. Exterminate. Friendly reminder that Zekvir empowered packs and mini-bosses gave you nothing but these hands.

Your gear is in the bountiful chest. The nemesis box is just extra currency and optional. Often you don’t even have to engage those elites. Just skip them if you can. Maybe use some sneaking potions.
Grey items are virtually guaranteed from reward chests at the end of a delve, just as a baseline ‘gold’ reward for completing it. Do you start to see why I’m assuming you don’t entirely understand how the system works yet?
I’ll ask you this: What level of delve did you complete for these rewards?
You can make your own m0 runs trough all the dungeons and you can do it naked. Its even more of a joke this week with 4mxth weekly that also gives you free raid hc item and overgeared players will carry you trough.

In a blue t11 Nemesis box I got
-127 undercoins
-Bag w/ 52 gold
-A few runed undermine crests ( I was capped but think it was like 3 )
-Brann xp token for 250
Worth it for the undercoins alone tbh but Im not going out of my way to kill extra stuff tbh. Adds have way too much health and I get bored so I try to get these over with asap and skip what I can.
Just my luck. I had a bugged delve where the one of the 3 packs didn’t show up.
