Why does my hunter alt feel like my slowest class?

Cheetah has such a long CD, that its never available when I want it. Disengage sends you backwards.

Am I missing something? Its really weird when my pally feels like he can get out of bad situations easier than my hunter.

Camera control is key with Disengage. Quick mouse camera turn to where you want to Disengage, and bam. There’s a talent that removes roots/snares and gives a speed boost upon Disengaging as well.

Usually all the mobility you need. Outside of that if you can’t get out of something, Turtle survives mostly everything.

Disengage has a very low cooldown and with Posthaste also clears any sort of snare/root and gives you movement speed.

Harpoon has a very low CD as well, and Flanking Strike moves you very far

You also have access to to Pathfinding from Cunning Pets if needed

Hunters are a wheelchair class.

Next time you are doing a long run back after a wipe like, say, in Abberus or HoI, pay attention to the other classes. Even chaining disengage every cooldown will only make up some of the lost ground - you will still fall further and further behind everyone else.

Also disengage you need to jump spin to use it for running and its jump back direction is based on the SERVER orientation, not client. So if you’ve ever disengaged and flew in a completely random direction that was NOT where you were aiming that is why.

Your hunter feels slow because we are slow. We went from being one of the most mobile classes to one of the least.

My guess would be that you’re not playing survival :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Funny watching hunters complain about mobility when they have the only 100% damage-while-moving ranged toolkit in BM. Mobility isnt just about run speed and movement effects.

Thats…not the issue being discussed here at all. Nobody is talking about issues doing DPS whilst moving.

Maybe try reading.

You can also Disengage if are falling right before you hit the ground. Those mage trolls that open portals to Dalaran crater.

I can read, can you? They are the same thing you sweet little stud muffin. If you can move 100% of the time you are never in need of more than one personal speed boost on a reasonable cooldown, which you have plus disengage.
Outside of truly niche fights like mythic raz in the recent history of wow (where everyone needs more movement), hunter has NEVER meeded more movement than it currently has.
Plus what are you saying exactly? I should narrow my focus to when they are not dpsing? Are you seriously saying this thread is about post wipe run-back speed? Wow.

Just choose the speed nodes and grab a speed boost pet when i hit cheetah i run faster than a ground mount i also collect a speed set and toggle it when runnin back

Tis the slowest, any run back in a dungeon or raid will show that to be true.

So instead just keep the floor absorbing the remaining heat of your dead corpse until a kindly healer pulls you back to reality.

BTW all you folks arguing that BM DPS while moving, seem to forget that MM exists

Personally not losing any sleep over it.

So i speced into trailblazer and the extra movement speed then equipped my amulet ring that i have the stacking speed buff gem maxed out and summon up good ol Hexapose cunning pet for the extra speed and with only one peice of current gear with extra speed on it im chilling at 169% speed before cheeta or nitro boots engineering enchant. Fast AF Boooiiii and can walk on water with his water walking buff. Great for farming those long old raids / dungeons

I dunno. My paladin feels really slow, and my warlock has to kill himself to keep up. Compared to them, I feel like I’m always in fast forward on my hunter. Only my mage never seems to have trouble with run speed.

Doesn’t MM only have 1 ability, Aimed Shot, that cannot be used while moving?

Wouldn’t say MM has big disadvantage versus BM. BM/SV gets delayed by bad pet AI all the time, as the pet runs to the other side of the room, gets locked out, etc.

MM just needs to stop once every 9s for AS as needed for a 2s cast, and half the time we get free AS or 50% faster AS.

Playing all three specs, there isn’t any clear advantage over another in combat and they are all equally painfully slow out of combat, as well.

Gotta be careful using Disengage in dungeons or places that has steep drop offs, dont wanna ended up down there. Happen to me once, i hit the wrong key by mistake!

Most of us old timers use disengage as a mobility cd. You pretty much jump, point your bum toward the direction and punch the keybind. Won’t lie, your gonna alot of dumb s$%# at first. Disengage off cliffs, ledges, into packs mobs, instance mechanics, off cliffs… but it’s fun once you get it down. Just a little skillcap ability.

Whilst it may be correct on paper that its “Just one ability on a long cooldown” but when you’re actually playing its hilariously incorrect in practice. Any sort of movement beyond a couple of steps absolutely TANKS MM damage.

Ask any MM hunter how infuriating it is trying to get a cast off but getting targeted by AoE and having to interrupt it to move and doing near 0 AoE damage because its all heavily based around ricochet procs which, guess what, you dont get if you have to keep moving for AoE.

In single target, haste, procs, etc mean Aimed Shot is almost always up and any movement has to happen during global cooldown - any more and forget your DPS, its going on a nosedive.

The reason for this is Disengage is based on SERVER location, not client location so while on your screen you had your back pointed correctly, if that didnt update fast enough on the server you fire off in the direction the server thinks you had your back to.

Tbh, 95% of the time it was operator error, nothing to do with servers.
