Why does Lycara's Medition exist?

Who actually likes this talent? I think it would be fine if it were to reduce the damage lost from switching, but it should never be a damage increase. if i wanted to play as a bear or moonkin, i would be playing that. like on queen prog i switch to bear for pop and for wrests, so the buff is nice there to regain some damage lost, but i dont want turning into bear form a part of my standard rotation?

It seems like it only really feels fine for resto druids since they swap between healing and DPSing frequently and will get some passive value out of the talent even without changing how they play. Fluid form and the return of moonkin form make this true for casters also.

I hope to someday random into a group with a Guardian druid attempting to utilize this talent. That’ll be funny.

“Id rather stand still, press nothing and auto attack than swap forms”
Always an L take. Weaving is fun and gets rid of boring downtime.

It is also great for those moments when you need to move away from the boss for a mechanic allowing you to do a quick switch to get a small damage boost when you can go it.

I hope this extra utility remains.

no, this i agree with, i even said it in the post. doing it for a damage gain as par t of normal rotation? hell no.

I think it needs a rework; id like it to be moving from raw stats to form tied utility, but the rework to up the minimum form time to ~3 seconds for it to activate is a decent direction, but i want more, tie time out of form directly to how long the buff lasts after you shift back.

  • 1 second in boomy gets you 1 second of mastery once back in bear or cat.
  • 4 seconds in bear get you 4 seconds of vers.
  • 10 seconds in cat form, still caps out at 5 so no ones waiting around in an off form for 10 seconds before pull trying to bank stats.

Then it is just makeup for the time spent out of form off-healing/speed boosting/soaking mechanics.
I dont think 5 second of mastery would be worth stopping tanking or kittying for a full 5 seconds to get it and theres not a ton that can be done in the single gcd youd get after shifting form casting a sunfire in boomy.
But if youre running to soak some far off mechanic as cat, or need to wait through a dot in bear getting 5 seconds of crit/vers when you get back can be a little boost for having to wait so long.

But again, id prefer it be changed fully to form themed utility. For 5 seconds after leaving a form: bearform lets you keep the extra armor, catform lets you keep the speed, noform casts one of the better hots on you, boomy idk gives a range increase or something

This is totally nonsense. Not sure what spec you are. But for balance, when you swap to bear, you lose 10% damage from moonkins form, also 3% mastery in change of 6% vers. Also you lose 2+ GCD that can cast spells. It’s a big loss on dmg.

Defnitely! I find really weird to have crucial throughput talents that deep in the class tree. Those should be at best as far as the middle tier goes. We have not one, but THREE of those in the bottom of the tree. It feels as awful as when Lycara was a cursed 3 point node lol.

Also, I do feel that both Lycara’s talents are… kinda redundant? Meditation could’ve been just the base one reworked. And while free stats is always great, it doesn’t feel productive when you want a specific build that won’t favor it (e.g. PVP Balance favors haste, but the bonus is mastery… :expressionless: )

Who’s this Lycara anyway?! Gonna have a talk with that Druid.

same!

i already feel i have a different way of playing druid but talents like it aid my playstyle and i love options so i hope we get more like it myself.

one of their hero trees encourages shifting into cat form while tanking
