LFR drops gear because without gear it would see little to no use.
LFR’s primary purpose is not so people can “see the story”.
LFR’s primary purpose is to get as many people as possible to use it so as to justify the time and resources spent on creating raid content.
To simplify… if we didn’t have LFR or if LFR was not being used by enough people, raid content as a whole would see less time and resources devoted to its creation.
So asking for LFR to be removed or to have its loot removed or made worthless, is tantamount to asking to get less raid content added to the game and to have that raid content be smaller and of less quality than we currently enough. So think about that the next time you make such a post.
This may be true, because so many casuals have left because there’s nothing to do and old content is not enough, while raiders cling to the game until their guild dies.
Why does LFR drop gear? Because it takes gear to play the game. Because the gear people need to actually do LFR difficulty is based on the target demographic and does not assume that if they aren’t in mythic gear they don’t deserve loot.
Because the entire game is designed to keep people participating in content by giving them participation rewards. Removing such rewards means people will stop doing that content. It does not follow that they will suddenly want to play with you and your ilk, OP.
For the life of me I’ll never understand why people are so consumed worrying about what other players get in game or how they play. It’s a game! Play the game the way you want and enjoy yourself, I’ll do the same!
Because people need a carrot otherwise they won’t do it. If anything war fronts should have shown you that. Gear and item levels are everything in this game. It’s designed that way, it doesn’t matter if you need it or not - people want it.
Sadly that system isn’t compatible with the current design of everyone gets everything instantly. The way forward is to design a expansion similar to the burning crusade.
I’m not saying that you’re incorrect in that they said it. I said that whether they did or didn’t, it’s a stupid and flawed argument that flies in the face of what we actually know about the game.
