As with completion of many other objectives in WOW, there is a reward. Reward varies depending on the difficulty and complexity of the objective. I’m so sorry this confuses you.

Badge gear goes back to BC, Varb. So nothing new there.
This is the third or fourth time Ive seen this about how gear / LFR and sub numbers are somehow connected…in all the years I have been here, not once have I seen one single piece of proof to indicate the two have anything to do with each other.
For all we know the sub numbers could be due to the lack of tikbalangs…better tell Griftah.

WoW’s peak in sub numbers was during the expansion that was infamous for giving out free epics and tier pieces through badges.

Well, I do have warmode on while I do world quests, so having better gear will help me survive better when alliance try to gank me.

WoW’s slowest growth period was during that time and let’s be honest thank God for Arthas or Wrath would not have been as popular.
The same reason why lfr cannot be done in one shot and takes a month to get full access. to give the illusion to lFR people that the game cares for them. When in fact it just trying to appease them so they can make raiders happy. LFR pays for the making of raids and raiders get the fruit of it. Well, that how it was explained to me. Got me if true. I keep hearing raiders make up over 65% of the population also. The internet is what you make of it.

Same gear as warfronts and m0.
Honestly don’t even bother with lfr anymore on my alts. Often went a full clear with 0-1 drops in it anyway. Now it’s just for people who want to be there as it should be.

Everything gives rewards. If you don’t want to do it, do something else. I’m not overly concerned about what other people are getting. You’ll find greater happiness if you adopt that philosophy.

There were no Mythic+ dungeons or Mythic raiding back then. so OBVIOUSLY Mythic+ and Mythic raiding is at fault here and needs to be removed.

Since assaults/emissaries already drop 370’s like candy right now, and the new LFR which i guarantee will be more of a pita then any assault/emissary quest will drop 370’s as well, you’re prolly complaining about the wrong thing. The reason LFR drops any gear at all is just to give people another avenue to gear while they see the content. The days that raiding, at any level, is the only way to gear are gone, dead and buried.

I would argue that things like a very long content drought, heroics that were too hard for 5 random players who didn’t know each other and a raid or die design hurt subs more than LFR ever could or will.

I’m surprised you aren’t upset about other easy sources of gear in the game. Heroics and especially regular Mythics drop items that can warforge/titanforge. Emissary WQ rewards also can. Incursion are stupidly easy and can reward decent ilvl gear. Warfronts too.
But you have a bone to pick with LFR, in which you currently 8 bosses to potentially receive loot from (based on RNG) not including 3 weekly tokens (also based on RNG). SMH…
I never said anything about sub growth. I said that WoW’s sub numbers hit its peak during Wrath.
Peak = maximum
Why does any form of content drop gear? Because it’s a form of progression. Might not be progression for you, but it is for hundreds of others.
