Why does it seem like such a task to get a low key group going?

I spent from the start of the season until now working on PVP on my main. Now that I hit my goal on my main, I figured I would start the grind to time all 10’s on this DH (Idc if they’re trash, I like playing them). But you can sometimes sit in a queue for 40 minutes and not get a group going,… in the middle of the evening.

In BFA I could hit 120 on a toon, and have them running 15’s in 2 weeks.

What gives?

The learning curve is steeper, and dungeons in shadowlands were redesigned to make them harder to pug.

Pains of being a dps

Oh, I mean no doubt. But in BFA if you leveled your own key you could still manage to get groups fairly quickly–just took forever if you were apping to groups on anything other than overgeared/over-achieved. But this is a whole new ballgame for me. lol

I’m still able to do that, maybe a time thing? I have 8 toons and I always run my own key and only 2 of them aren’t dps.

It definetly sucks but I think it’s because the reward for keys isn’t great this xpac

less reward and less people playing.

Is it because you aren’t doing your own key?
I have no problems doing any key, especially lower ones.
Usually have dozens of people signing up.
That might be why you wouldn’t be invited to others’ groups.

I have no problem finding players for my keys. Especially as Horde.

No, I meant this for running my own key. At either rate, pushed my +4 to a +7, so it eventually worked out–but it was kind of a dumb wait compared to BFA (and I set the ilvl limit at 180, when I’m 185, so I wasn’t really asking for super geared people or anything).

As much as I despise tanking, homeboy above may be right, it may be easier to just go Veng in spite of me only doing this because I think Havoc is fun, but it’s w/e. My main is gear capped and I still have trouble getting low groups together for low keys sometimes, so maybe it’s just a lack of tanks issue or something.

this.

I legitimately don’t get why people struggle putting groups together.

even on my non-tank alts, I can list a key and fill a group. Does it take a while to find a tank? sure, sometimes, but it eventually happens. I think the longest I’ve waited was 15 minutes.

and I’m not being picky. I’m talking +7 or below keys where I usually just take the first people who sign up.

if I can do this, why can’t others? There’s nothing about my alts that makes me have any extra success in filling groups…

not alliance. that might be part of it. maybe alliance genuinely have a harder time.

honestly as a tank you’ll have your pick of groups :woman_shrugging:

I’d say you’re right, as stated above my main is a 227 healer (but not from PVE) and even on him I wait like 20 minutes to run a key when I’m bored. I do hate tanking though, it’s much more fun to eye beam and blade dance all over the place. Ah well.

There’s an issue where some people don’t want to run low keys and drop their great vault rewards down, so those without alts to play with won’t be seen in lower keys.

no there’s not. your vault rewards do not drop if you run a lower key.

the game takes all your keys for the week
puts them in order
and your rewards are based on the 1st, 4th and 10th key.

so if you run a 3 and you’ve only run 10 keys, just go run a 12. it will push that 3 off the list of keys considered for the vault.

if you’ve only run 8 keys and don’t play to do anymore but your friend is all “yo come run this 3” so you do, it’s not going to affect your vault at all.

this site explains it fairly well

“Also note, that the order in which you complete your dungeons is irrelevant; your keys will be sorted from highest to lowest.”

Meaning the more lower keys you do the more chance your 4th or 10th options will be lower ilvl than your first.

Because at this point in the season, most people who’re interested in keeping up with M+ likely either have their own group already formed – or, if they’re puggers, don’t want to group up with people who don’t already meet the standards of having already ran high M+ levels.

no dude

it literally doesn’t matter what order you do the keys in.

the game resorts them.

ok yes, if ALL you do is low keys, then sure, that’s going to impact your vault.

if you have 1 hour to play and you fill that 1 hour with 3 +5 keys vs 1 +15 key, then yea, I guess you’re getting rewarded on a +5.

that’s just obvious though. that doesn’t mean the lower keys push out higher keys.

This isn’t correct friend.

Your top 10 keys levels are what is used for your vault. In order from highest to lowest.

If you run more than 10 anything after 10 doesn’t matter how low, assuming it’s lower than your 10th lowest.

This confused me at the beginning of the expansion but it’s as simple as this: If you keep a list of ALL the keys you complete in a week (the game does it for you), your loot will always be based on your first highest, your4th highest, and your 10th highest.
