The high level (R12+) horde rogue pvp gear has sick spikes and a vibrant glowing particle animation on the shoulders, while the alliance gear has zero particle effects and looks like 3 grey shoulder pads stacked on top of one another.
Just comes down to aesthetic and personal taste.
Personally I find that the Alliance plate is the best looking of the PvP sets.

Purely subjective, some like the more humble look, and extravagance isnt always desired, what Sabetha said.
Druid R13 gear is ugly and Alliance R14 2h sword and plate look pretty bananas
Well, if you looked like an Orc you’d put in extra effort to make sure your armor was pretty enough to distract everyone from your appearance too.

Alliance had best looking pvp gear by far.
R13 glow was a tank giveaway, looked nice, but competitive disadvantage

Its not the gear, its the faction that is cooler.
Horde bias.
