Why does fury warriors need less hit than rogues?

Everywhere I read says just get soft cap of 6% plus racial but rogues go as high as 12% why? If it’s poisons, doesn’t the increase in hit smoothen out rage for more dps? Not sure why rogues would prioritize it more vs warrs

strength gives a stronger grip

I believe this only applies to human and orc warriors due to the weapon racials.

No not just them. I see on all bis list saying band and dft to rogues after tanks over fury and I’m not sure why

hit loses value past warriors special hit cap because of heroic strike queing.

Because if you queue heroic strike and then deactivate it before your offhand goes off it will cause your white attacks to not miss. It is a bit try hard though for some to pull off.

However with full world buffs and consumes you can queue heroic strike constantly in your rotation almost, which will cause your white hits to not miss. Check out Fight Club discord if you want to know more and want a more detailed explanation.

Hit cap is 9% for everyone or 6% with +5 to weapon skill for yellow hits and the white hit cap is 27.4% or 24.8% with +5 weapon skill.

Warriors do not need hit beyond cap because when heroic strike or cleave is queued, their white hits used the yellow hit formula.

Rogues don’t have the ability to do this so +hit beyond hit cap is more valuable for them.

2 Reasons.
Warriors rely more on Strength and AP to reliably hit hard while rogues rely more on critical strikes to do equivalent damage.

Rogues have more crit innately than warriors

There is this thing called the crit cap that once you hit it you then want extra hit gear above hit soft cap for to increase your actual crit chances. It sounds convoluted but shrug that’s what it boils down to

As gearing stands its pretty damn hard for warriors to crit cap in comparison to rogues because of gear prios but when it happens you too will want to sneak some more hit in there to get more juicy crits

because tanks need hit too?
are you having trouble communicating in English?

Isn’t that obvious from the bad grammar in the title?

He’s wondering why prio is Tanks > Rogues > Fury instead of Tanks > Rogue=Fury

But yeah, it’s HS Queue bug that allows you to ignore dual-wield miss penalty while HS is Q’d.

It’s not that Rogue’s get more benefit from Hit than Warriors. Hit is very important for both.

The main reason why all the literature parrots 6% soft cap for Warriors is because of the Heroic Strike (or Cleave) queuing bug.

Basically, when you queue any “On-Next Attack” ability, your offhand swings get modified with the yellow hit modifier. This effectively removes the 25% Hit penalty on off-hand swings, and brings both weapons to the 6% yellow soft-cap.

This is the theory of course. In reality, almost no one can maintain perfect Heroic Strike queuing and cast canceling mid fight while keeping up with 100% of their globals without fail.

You’ll most likely still get some benefit from going over soft cap.

The other big use we get from going over soft Hit Cap is Crit:

The Critical Strike formula is as follows:

100% - Miss Chance - Dodge Chance - Glancing Chance + Crit Suppression

Because Hit is the only player controllable variable in the above formula, the only way to increase your soft-Crit cap, is by pushing additional Hit.

The literature is a good guideline, but in general, you need to run your own sims to figure out what works best for you, with the gear you currently have available. Another big issue with the predetermined BiS lists is they all assume full world buffs, full consumes, etc etc.

This has a drastic effect on gearing choices. If your guild is more casual and doesn’t mandate full world buffs and consumes, you may find some interesting shifts in gear priority. For example, across 500k simulations, DFT averaged to a .18 DPS increase over BHB, due to my guild being a more casual guild, and us rarely having Songflower/Ony which would tilt me well past the Crit Cap my Hit can currently support.

Below, please find two separate Warrior Sims where you can run tests based on your own gear, buff, and fight conditions for independent testing:

warriors only need 6 hit if they either have edgemasters or have a racial to give them skill, they can turn all they’re normal hits into ability hits with heroic strike. Ability hits require less hit chance. Rogues can’t convert their normal attacks into ability hits, so they gain more from hit once they have enough to hit all their abilities, but in the end its just pennies, but better pennies than nothing.
