I understand why they spread the events out around the hour. My question is why is this the only content they seem to want to add.
Edit: I am talking about the world events they keep adding every patch, I have to hope that people want to do it after a month or so because I never got it done right away.

In that case, I don’t really know. Hardly affects me.
It clumps the players so that way later in the season when only 7 people want to do them per hour all 7 are doing it together
However yeah it would be cool if they just ran continuously and you could do them whenever you wanted

Because they want to make sure it sucks if you have 50 people lagging the entire zone or if you have nobody to actually push to reward completion with.
It’s the Blizzard way. Ensure that no matter how it goes down getting your reward sucks as much as possible.
I still have a Theater Troupe metaquest in my log that’s sat there for weeks because I can’t be bothered to arrive on time when I’d rather be doing delves or Undermine chores.
look i get timer are a pain but youre comparing the base content with a single timer event to a mid season event thats actually terrible and has no reason to exist.

This reply seems overly aggressive considering the OP was talking about timed events in general. I wouldn’t even disagree that Nightfall is the more egregious and annoying example.
Idk maybe a completely different type of content? the other week it took me three failed times to do surge pricing because no one was doing it. so I had to keep coming back to do it.

When the event is “full”, it fires. Or it just fires every 15m for whoever is queued up, or something like that.
Out of all the world events, only the soup event was ever really fun to me. The rest of the things like following the tree around while half the group afked were not anywhere as engaging.
I’m only renown 3 and I have most of the purple sets done. Missing 1 piece from each. The loot can drop from the bags from the dailies, and you have a higher chance of getting stuff you can use. It’s not bad at all.
Incorrect. You can also get the items for the white recolour from the purple chest for filling the bar of the event. I’m almost done the cloth and plate sets.
