Why does blizzard communicate more on X than their own forums?

I’m sure you’d disagree even if you had Twitter but since you don’t…

Wait?!! Are you saying Blizzard Activism leans one direction? I just certainly never saw that in any of their pandering. It was always based pandering, always.

Look here you little culture warrior! I am inclusive of all of Blizzard’s panderings because I am the opposite of culture war!

There is going to be a whole generational divide between the people who still say Twitter, and the younglings who will unironically call it X, unaware of its old name.

I feel old. And I’m not even that old.

I suspect, on a practical level, it’s easier to monitor/work Twitter feeds because social media is a communications team responsibility and Blizzard likely has a sizable comms department/division.

You do realize they can do that on these forums too right?

If anything, be thankful they even have forums. Some of the newer mmos don’t even have forums (or removed them) and now you have to communicate on Discord to them if you have issues etc. or even post to people. They use “X” also.

Overall, I think maintaining a site like this the companies don’t want the hassle of it. I honestly wouldn’t doubt that these forums go away in time.

I’m extremely sorry for mis-warrioring you. I will acknowledge your preferred culture-isms.

I would prefer “Savior of man-kind and ultimate arbiter of human behavior” as all of us who don’t engage with the culture war would.

Hey we can all be neck deep while insisting we are above all of it.

I was actually referring to the “savvy business man” portion of the quote. X formerly known as Twitter is a CESSPOOL now.

Have you read these forums?

Curation is a great word for this. Blizzard X account is about building a fantasy of what Blizzard games and their community is about. They are not trying to have a genuine interactions with the community.

They absolutely aren’t. Threads and posts get deleted. No one gets vacationed anymore.

While I agree I still say “give it to them” ultimately.

I’ve already said I’m blocked by their official account over there. Perhaps that’s on me for having a different expectation of the purpose of that outreach.

But I do still think it is about curating a certain image and whether we agree or disagree on the motivations behind that it’s ok to say it.

What does anyone use social media for? Whether it be a corporation or an individual. It’s about putting out a certain image to the world.

I actually think this is a good thing. Maybe that’s for my own benefit or preservation to some degree. But I don’t think it’s that bad around here right now and I enjoy seeing the truly bad things get flamed.

I think we all know there have been times with heavier moderation that were still much worse.

Do you really want them to vacay me and then have me annoying you in the game? :stuck_out_tongue:

My guess would be based on analytics of what has the most views

Because the forum is a very small group controlling the narrative here. Not to mention trolls made CMs stop posting long ago.

Maybe I am a cynic but I read that and thought it is about money for corporations and some individuals, others for attention. Being on social media allow for companies and people to give the illusion of being more accessible. Who does not want to use a service were people are easily accessible? It seems very easy to contact them all the while their customer service is abysmal or nonexistent.
