Why does blizzard communicate more on X than their own forums?

Makes no sense to me at all. Why not use your own platform instead of a third party. And let’s not get into who owns that third party site….

they dont care about the forums, the fact it change based on your character and not your account proves it

also the layout is still in dragonflight

Because they can block/silence people forever creating their own echo chamber.

The whole “my thoughts are my own” in every bio is for that reason.

Because they can block you and hide your comments on Twitter to curate a positive response.

i refuse to call it that. its twitter. its a dumb name. also they communicate on there cause they got tired of being flamed? i cant remember the exact wording but it was something along those lines.

Because nobody cares about these forums and everyone cares about X, especially now that it’s in the hands of a business-savvy owner.

The forums aren’t for Blizzard to communicate with us. They are for discussion. For us to discuss among ourselves.

The blues have even stated in the past that they avoid posting in the forums because whenever they do it derails the thread.

they used to communicate with us up until about the end of mists beginning of wod. thats when dev communication went almost radio silent.

I assure you they care very much about the forums. Moderation is through the roof here. No one pays this much attention to something they don’t care about

I recall there being some… incidents.
Ones that don’t need repeating.

Bad things have happened in the past, leading to the Devs treating the forums VERY gingerly, usually only posting official statements that have been ran though several levels of PR.

there is some actually honest feedback. at least there was. recently it just seems to be endless whining. i think most of the constructive posters gave up and left after the dragonflight beta.
