sorry if this is a really stupid question but im wondering why anduin looks like that in tww? did he get beat up in dragonflight? i havent paid attention to the game since castle nathria so all i know is he was injured in shadowlands when he was being tortured.
i assume he would’ve healed up between then and tww, but his model has cuts and blood on his face?
he’s been living the hobo life for a few years

He has been a wandering Vagrant for years, and he is so depressed his self care is… not the best. Goodness knows how he smells.

He joined a club that you’re not allowed to talk about.

You know the whole violation metaphor surrounding Sylvanas? The game thought it’d be a good idea for her to turn around and do it to Anduin, and through the jailer puppeting him, he was made to love it during his time dominated. And only now does the game decide to try to handle the subject with any care.

Can’t be any worse than the Orcs.
He got tortured in Shadowlands and has been wandering ever since.
tbf it was what caused her confidence in Zovaal to start crumbling (way too late)
pauses from eating cactuses and bathing in dirt
“What you be saying?”

Anduin was a loot piñata (figuratively of course) who managed to survive. His scars are probably from getting beat up in Sepulcher of the First Ones because he was a raid boss.

He got all up in our face during Shadowlands, and we slapped him down.

Forsaken probably smell worse, you know, they’re rotting corpses after all.
Unless they have used alchemy to solve that issue or magic.
But yeah, Anduin has been a wanderer for a good 5 years now at this point, no home, always using the same armor, not using the light at all.
if shadowlands isnt canon then what made him like this
Nothing was ever decanonized.
Maw life is rough on a person.
Ever see those before/after comparisons of what major world leaders look like before the stress of office and after? And that’s without a demonic alien invasion, hot war between superpowers, etc.
Anduin is lucky his hair hasn’t turned white already. I mean, we’ve seen how quick it can happen with Jaina!

After being dominated and then eventually freed from the Jailer’s will Anduin ended up getting some pretty bad PTSD. He was made to murder people and his allies, and the domination made him emotionally enjoy it as well.
So not only is he recovering from that, but also from the fact that he loved doing it… depression is a helluva thing.

My dark thought is avoiding the resemblance to Arthas.
