Why does a level 11 hit harder than geared level 80s?

Can we fix the disgusting scaling?

Imagine leveling up all the way to 80, getting gear, and feeling like you’re powerfu… oh wait you can’t, because a lvl 10 gnome warrior just came in and decided to spam SLAM

and now he’s doing 10x your damage

it’s at a point where if I see someone topping the damage meter it’s 9999/10000 some low level alt

come on.

Sounds like a scaling issue. If we went back to classic scaling, and made people of specific levels dungeon together, this would not be an issue.

Scaling has been botched for a while. You get weaker as you level lol

It’s trivial content for levels 10-80. Lower levels scale higher because they don’t have 60 talent points and a full hero talent tree to compensate. Do any hard content and it won’t matter.

Curious - if that Level 10 somehow was playing in a Level 80 zone against Level 80 mobs, would they still be wiping the place?

So they aren’t doing better than a level 80 in every aspect of the game, just in certain LFG instances. Ultimately, does it matter? If you are in a group doing those scaled instances and there is no issue related to the difference in player power, is there really a problem?

This.

“You should add level scaling because guild wars has it.”

That’s literally how we got here, because a handful of people said that during MoP.

Scaling is kind of borked. But they tune it making lowest levels powerful because otherwise they would be unable to contribute meaningfully in any dungeon, given their utility is withheld until much higher levels.

We do of course see demands that would make it impossible for any player not close to max level to run instances. That would not actually be good for the game, but it would make the players who think that all leveling dungeons should be a challenge to the best players in the game feel better, because they actually want to drive new players out of the game or at least keep them from ever progressing.

These are people who should freaking shut off their meters if they feel the need to parse in leveling dungeons.

Nope. What actually happened was Ion telling us that new players were not joining the game because they were insisting on level scaling. Also that new players were frightened by big numbers, like “Level 120”.

Ion says a lot of things. They have their plans and he says what he thinks players need to hear to go quietly into the dark night.

It’s time walking. sit back, let them have their power moment and collect reward. Who cares?

It can not be fixed, Blizzard Developers committed to going down this rabbit hole and this is just how things are. :dracthyr_shrug:

It’s TW man, people want to be in and out for the exp and the badges, if a 11 twink with 0 utility and pure damage came to my run, they’d be more than welcome.

I’m not dissing but are there people who consider TW by itself content? If they enjoy stomping mobs of enemies there are more refined games out there

For people saying who cares its TW, fair enough, but why did they bother nerfing low levels in BRD TW raids but not touch dungeons, at least have some consistency.

why do you care

you should be happy they are doing the work for you

It has been like this for many expansions now, I only really started paying attention to it in bfa that’s when it became very obvious something wasn’t right to me.

Scaling is really broke. This toon did fine until she hit 60. I am getting pwned by rares I had no trouble defeating in the 40’s.

Maybe I should start taking level 11’s to my key runs

They didn’t want lowbies with 1-2 buttons to be dead weight in instanced content.

I appreciate it while leveling. Twinks literally delete the mobs. Gonna level some more toons

Really would be nice to have a max level time walking option at the very least… It’s not fun for level 80’s to be playing with people who started their character a couple of hours ago.

The scaling is really bad. All the “queued” content this expansion… seems to have some type of negative drawback… which isn’t good.
