Why does 1300 feel like 1700 or 1800

Im not even trying to compete with you sweaty no jobs, i just want my 207. i remember 1700 being easily achievable wth happened

Early in the season, you have the entire arena population leaving the starting line at the same time so it’s harder to work your way up

all the bad players quit and only the strong remain

This makes sense. I keep seeing high level plays every other match.

Yeah not sure if you ever did long distance cross country / track, but the same idea, you can get trapped in the pack at a bottleneck and it’s hard to move up without expending tons of energy.

This makes me feel better about how hard the grind from 1400-1600 felt. I thought it was just cuz of how new I am to arena lol.

Yeah try not to get discouraged if you run into a rating wall, as the season progresses it becomes easier to push up to the rating you want.

A mix of class balancing, inflation, fighting people of your caliber, etc.

Gearing and how god awful the last 3 expacs have been means arena doesn’t really have a 1500 player base for the most part.

Arena is not new friendly player atm either with rogues deleting your soul in .05 seconds. Not to mention what boomkins are doing to people. Boomy so nasty your house, church, and entire town burns to the ground when you die.

Anybody know about how long it takes for inflation to go back to normal? Wondering when I should start pushing rating for gear.

Hitting 1800 this week, with no legendary, and being generally undergeared was quite a challenge actually. I must have lost 5-6 games alone by forgetting to kill that pod plant thing after killing someone. Also I lost count of how many times myself or my healer were quite literally global’d by a double dps team.

If you’re capable of hitting 1600 I would do it, otherwise you fall behind on gear and that becomes it’s own roadblock.

Start as soon as you can I say. You’ll only improve the more you play anyways. As for inflation, it’s a gradual process all the way through the season, and even season to season. For example 3200 being rating cutoff for rank 1 final season of BFA, when previous seasons it could be as low as like 2600-2700’s.

Early seasons will always be extremely hard. Even if some the top r1s have pushed 2700 theres a lot of other r1s playing even as low as 1800 since its first week.

Also since gearing toons is billion times easier than bfa i know people that already have 2-3 toons queing up.

Another outlier is no more pvp scaling so if your a lower ilvl than say the 192+ leggo wielding pvers pushing to 1600-1800-2100 for vault caps it will be a lil hard if your at 160-170 ilvl

rn 1700-2100 is mostly glads from what ive seen 2200-2500+ mmr all r1s with some exceptions.

I would say this changes a lot in the next week or so but i honestly think more people will be gearing a 2nd or 3rd toon and capping them so you might still run into some trouble at lower ratings for the next 2-3 weeks

Idk, I’m not wild about working my butt off for a lousy 1600.

it should start normalizing in 2-3 weeks imo. After the next 2-3 weeks you prolly will still have some people just returning that couldnt play launch or people gearing alts but it wont be the majority of the ladder playing at lower ratings.

Also a lot of people will end up playing their placement games so their mmr gets dropped a lot cuz of that.

Even when i was 2200 id que with 0cr friends and sometimes get put into the 1600 bracket cuz of placement games

I agree with this. I think pro players prefer a burstier meta, but the more inexperienced you are, the more difficult playing in that environment can be…to the point of absurdity. It is extremely unforgiving and therefore not a fun or conducive environment for new players to learn. I look forward to the game slowing down quite a bit, and not being globaled. A lot of the damage is 100% not acceptable in it’s current state, but I agree with others that we wait for gear. Blizzard doesn’t tend to ever revert nerfs.

It’s not high level plays bro, DK is not good in the meta unless you are literally playing with great players who can support you.

I think you better start early if you don’t want to miss the boat.

With rating-based gear, people aren’t going to be able to compete later unless they do a ton of PvE content to gear up. I think people are underestimating the impact of this.

Couple rank 1 friends didn’t even get around to queuing until Sunday night. It’s week 1, you need to wait for mmr to inflate.

this is delusional

dk is squishy but tsg and wwdk are both free glads rn
