Non-QQ thread, generally curious. I’ve been playing since BC and each year I ask myself this question. If you really look at it, it’s the same thing over and over again. We get to cap, work at getting the best gear, wait around a little bit after we get the best gear for some minor event and then a new expansion comes out making the gear we worked so hard for useless and we repeat the process.
Some of my best memories of this game were during Wrath. Running from dungeon to dungeon with my guild, having fun and chatting on vent through out the day. Now everything feels so disconnected, everyone I’ve meet in this game are gone now. I guess I still play in hopes of finding an experience like that again.

I still play. I still run around with guildies/friends-- imo m+ is really good for that feel. You gotta source your little crew and run around to all the dungeons and them stumble through 'em…
It’s never gonna feel new and fresh again, I think, but there’s still good here.
I still play because I am having more fun than ever. I have an amazing guild that I have played with for many years, a very close circle of friends who all enjoy nearly every aspect of the game, and things just keep getting better by the patch!
Many days, right before I click the play button, I wonder what kind of adventure my friends and I might get into. Blizzard never fails to deliver!

RP mostly. Unfortunately my servers dead for RP, and I don’t want to server transfer, nor re-level a brand new character. So it’s sad times.

The biggest reason is the art and soundtrack. It’s just straight up phenomenal. I don’t care much about getting the best loot or overcoming the hardest raids or even being in a guild. I just enjoy logging in and looking out over the water at the beautiful skyline and taking in the atmosphere. Especially late at night when I can’t sleep it brings me a certain comfort to log in.

Made a lot of friends who play, so it’s as much a social thing as it is a game. Got a great guild.

The same reason people keep going to see Star Wars movies. Ironically enough Disney has managed to betray those people more than Blizzard has ever betrayed us.

Right now? I re-subbed because I wanted the mono-cycle mount. I’ve got it now and I’m just hanging out for Hallow’s end. I love Azeroth during this event.
Then It’s probably a long vacation until 9.0 and the next xpac if it doesn’t go sideways.
At max level, I PvP and run TW.
I need to focus on unlocking flying and leveling alts. May as well finally build up my profession alts army.
But basically just PvP and TW, although I haven’t really played since 8.2.
