Why do you raid? M+? PVP?

I’m a PvE hero who absolutely adores raiding. I personally don’t care that much about even the loot really. Its a nice bonus on the side but thats not why I’m there every tues and thurs night.

I’m there for the people and the release. I have a high stress job, and a busy life with a wife and 2 yr old, and spending a couple hours 2 nights a week fartsing around trying to kill bosses is an amazing stress reliever.

M+ ill occasionally run if a few of my favorite guildies are on, But running the same handful of dungeons over and over again trying to get faster times just isn’t as enjoyable as managing a ballet like in raiding.

PvP - Ill run enough to fill stubborn holes in gear slots and thats it. PvP can die in a fire for all I care.

So why do YOU participate in the game’s various time sinks?

i hate raiding i want to be a m+ hero but i have to raid this tier because gear -_-
pvp is bad im tired of popping a 40percent defensive wall and still dying in a stun
m+ gearing was fine in bfa minus titanforge i love the challenge pushin

PvP is just my main enjoyed aspect of the game. I love queuing for random BGs especially. A streamer I watch has suggested blizz add a solo queue option for pvp which I am wholeheartedly in support of.

long story short:

to pass the time.

it is either this or 7 days to die and I am just zombied out…

M+ is fun.

I love M+ and Raiding but M+ this season is super terrible. I honestly miss seasons 4 BFA m+. I don’t pvp so I’m behind all of my guildies who do. Literally at a 10ilvl disadvantage which is huge if I want KSM

I like pressing my keys to make things happen. That’s why I really get a kick out of Torghast. Twisting Corridors too when I have the time. I run a dungeon here and there or looking for raid. I have been doing a lot of AV on my druid I’m converting from tank to heals. Used to get a kick out of healing so I’m going to get back into it.

Literally only do anything in this game to chase cosmetics. I want cool looking stuff.

The only thing I do that doesn’t really have anything attached to it is honor farming, and it’s because it’s just fun to me. I’m a more PvP focused player, but even rated is getting grated with faction imbalance trying to find partners to push with, so I’m likely throwing in the towel eventually.

I like raiding because it usually checks two boxes for me. I get to hang out with my entire group of friends in my guild, and I get to progress my character’s strength.

I don’t pug in this game outside of the simple LFG stuff, because there’s always that guy from Illidan or some similar realm who is a complete jerk for absolutely no reason, and it ruins the experience. Also, you don’t have to worry about a group falling apart with friends.

I don’t PVP currently because I’m not good at mistweaver in PVP, and mistweaver itself isn’t good in PVP. I don’t like gear being so important in this sort of environment.

I like M+ as a side thing. Not something I want to feel like I have to do, but something I’ll do if the right people are on to do it with. I definitely will not pug this, so, unless I get enough friends involved that are willing to climb, I only go so far as they can go.

The biggest thing that kept me engaged with WoW is the people I play with. The second biggest thing is the feeling that my character’s growth is moving forward (even slightly) in one of these 1-3 hour play sessions.

I love all of it honestly. I only hate the fact the you get best pve gear from pvp system I think its super wack.

I run M+ for the gear. Only reason. I’ll be straight up with you. I do M+ to get gear in order to further destroy open world content or further destroy whatever old content I want to run.

i dont enjoy raiding, ill do it if i ever need gear but other then that i dont care about it, ill also do pvp if there are rewards witch i did this xpac for 220s, I love m+ its the content ive enjoyed the most since legion, you have more agency on what happens, i like the timer gameplay to see what i can do to go even faster and optimize for it, doesnt require a full group (although its more enjoyable with friends) you can just pug it and spam it at will and lastly it was rewarding thing that they took away this xpac but with valor points i hope returns to its former glory

M+ is fun. I enjoy everything about it. It was a huge breath of fresh air when tbeh introduced it. Actual challenging content in the game that you only need 5 people for is fun. I only raid because of gear. I would not. Raiding is an outdated concept.

I usually enjoy pvp, however, pvp is currently more broken than it’s ever been and I hate it. I also hate that rhey finally gave pvp a good way to gear then created the worst season this game has ever seen

I’m doing raids primarily, and M+ on the side. I only PvP with friends, and only random battlegrounds, because I’m too twitchy for competitive player versus play environments. Also I still click some buttons/fumble keybinds, which PvP is infinitely more punishing than PvE.

I love large organized group PvE raids, in the 20-30 size range. With the right guild groups, there’s fun people to listen to and be around, and there’s great comfort in being a cog in the machine. I love progression content, trying out my leader’s new strategies, and finding better ways to down or progress bosses. My present guild doesn’t discriminate class and spec, and while leads are absolutely scrutinizing with peoples performance, it is primarily to make sure individual players are doing well for their specific specialization, rather than pit them against another class and spec who is clearly performing exceptionally well in all circumstances. It is a nurturing environment that helps train and find resources to help people with their class and spec.

M+ is typically the party game mode for me. I play it to have fun, because playing it to get gear made me hate it. I typically only run with guildmates with this character now, because I still can’t get into pugs most of the time, but I love the crap out of running low level keys to help out friends and guild mates. I also like healing pugs in M+, because I am confident in my abilities as a healer, and don’t lose fun from people making obvious mistakes.

PvP is… there. Random BG’s haven’t been fun in the two dozen games I’ve played recently, because I rarely feel like skill wins out, just gear and team stacking. It feels awful to have some medium geared people with 22-28k hp get absolutely blasted by a stack of 35-45k hp players. I’ve had three games where either my team or the enemy team sit inside the other team’s graveyard, and kill people endlessly until the match timed out. Epic BG’s are kinda fun to zerg, but Alterac Valley is 99% PvE, which is silly. I don’t do arenas or RBG’s because of aforementioned stress/lack of skill, and I feel bad playing poorly with people I don’t know.

Just milling around for fun. I’m an altoholic. Gonna try some arenas with a friend who’s playing again because I enjoy spending time with him.

I wanted to ask you, what do you feel is outdated about raiding?

I haven’t done much PvP every season, literally the last time I did any major PvP was Cataclysm and Wrath, but I can 110% assure you Wrath of the Lich King was pretty high up there in “things are so unbalanced, that skill and gear couldn’t protect you from the menace that was unkillable healers that could also kill you, and DK’s”

I raid because I enjoy it.

I do not do Mythic+ or PvP because I do not enjoy it.

This whole idea of requiring 20 people on the same server is a massively outdated concept for end game Content.

I’m also not a huge fan of the idea that I should have to dedicate 9 hours a week towards it

Because I wanna be the very best, like noone ever was. To catch them is my true test, to train them is my cause.
