what is your reason for playing the game? some people are competitive and want to have the highest raider io score or highest arena rating while others just like to collect mounts, pets and tmog and not worry to much about the most difficult content. there is no right or wrong answer here everyone enjoys something different! so what do you play the game for?

COVID outside, so even if it wasn’t cold half the things out there are closed anyways

The gameplay is fun too, I like the grind of MMO’s and this one is just the tops

I play to unwind/relax when I get a chance to escape real life for a little bit. As such I don’t care at all about rio or parses or challenging myself. I don’t play video games for a challenge. Real life is challenging. Video games shouldn’t be imo.

I used to play wow because it was fun.
But now I play wow cuz I have time left on my account. Once it’s done I’m not renewing until the final season. Might come back just to see if its any good.

Also I hunt achievements. It sounds nuts but I like the satisfaction of checking things off a list and collecting. I have the SL expansion and have played through the 4 covenant story parts to see what’s what, but then went back to doing old content.
People say they hate the idea of WoW being kind of single player. I level up and get gear so that I can go back and solo old content with ease. Other people think I’m wrong and shouldn’t play the game, but that’s what I enjoy.

I just like to play to troll people on my priest in the maw.
Just the time invested at this point, I really don’t find many aspects of the game rewarding anymore, and it reflects on the attitude that the player base has.

I’m sinking with the ship, no matter how “bad” the game gets. And really, the lowest point was either 6.1 or 8.3. Neither of those pushed me to quit, so I’m still here and actually enjoying Shadowlands quite a bit. Still working on Denathrius and my KSM achievements, among alts, so I have plenty to hold me here.
Its like GME. They got me when I was low. And now that im on top, I cant go any other direction but deeper down the rabbit hole to cover the squeeze.

The Roleplaying!
Even if I’m not actively participating in a RP event, everything I experience I immerse myself into.
Even collecting those grey trash items from Callings, I think to myself “How can I RP with this?”
In Shadowlands, even if the big-picture-story isn’t so great, there are a bunch of little things that are magical. In my opinion.

Used to be a lot of fun when I played with a bunch of people. I moved on to some RL things and now most of them are gone. Now I just wander around remembering the good old days and getting drunk on these forums…hic!
