Why do you play rogue?

For me, it doesn’t perform as well as a lot of other classes I’ve tried out… but it offers a play style that feels genuinely unique when compared to other classes in the game. I’m loving stealth. Pick pocket is a fun bonus, like a mini-game just for rogues.

The class fantasy also feels a lot more “humble” than other classes, which I like. You’re not some savior of the world or anything, just some person trying to get stuff done.

Because we’re the Batman of classes, or at least we were before WoD.

I returned to WoW after classic came out because I really enjoy playing a rogue, and Classic is 100% doing it for me again.

I just wish that retail class designs weren’t such utter trash, because the raids are spectacular.

Stealth and utility.

It means there is more than one way to approach a situation other than pew pew pew!

I like the Energy and Combo Point system, it feels better than every single class I’ve played in this game. Rogues are also good in every facet of the game so I don’t feel like I could be doing better if I was another class.

Rogues have been consistently strong every patch in every expansion, if we’re not top Rogues are usually not far from it. Among the melee we also have the best survival kit that lets us cheese things other melee cannot.

Stealth is a huge plus too but even if we didn’t have it I would still be maining this class.

  • Mobility is fun
  • Stealth is fun (and also really comforting)
  • Balancing energy and CP is the best.
  • I embrace the Rogue stereotype of elitist a-holes proudly and wholeheartedly.
  • Bursting people down from stealth and then running away is awesome. Camping people in stealth is awesome. Generally giving people no counterplay is also just the best feeling.
  • Sapping/Blinding people until they break their PC, even when I’m down 80 ilvls. Basically, if you mess with me in WPVP, I might not be able to kill you, but by God, you’re not getting off that Hearthstone after you finish your quests.
  • Blinding casters, Gouging casters, Kicking casters, silencing casters and bursting them down before they can get back to casting. Can you tell that I hate the mage/lock/priest types a lot even in PVE?
  • Even though Rogues are pruned pretty heavily, we still have nutty good defensives for a pure DPS class. Standing in spin-style boss abilities with Evasion, facetanking oneshot mechanics with Cloak, soaking AoE circles with Feint, everything feels rewarding to use.
  • I hate counting on people, I hate being disappointed by people failing mechanics, but most of all, I absolutely loathe people who log on at 9:05 when the guild agreed to raid at 9:00. Seriously, I want horrible horrible things to happen to those people irl. So, solo vision > M+ >>> raiding for me, and rogues are built to be good in solo content.

It’s a little worrying you get that upsetti spaghetti over 5 mins. :grimacing:

Hey, a promise is a promise lol. If they promise 9:00, they should be in front of their PC by 8:30 to be safe.

I played a warrior main since vanilla with rogue as an alt every xpac. I honestly am just tired of tanking. I’ve gotten glad on the warrior a few times but never on a rogue. Highest ieve ever gotten in rogue pvp is 1900s. I switched to rogue as main for sl after realizing I just don’t want to tank anymore, and am not a fan of warrior dps.
The pvp as rogue is so much more fun. Forcing cc burst windows ect is really exciting. And pulling off some fun 2v1s feels really good.

I like rogue cause I can pick my targets. What’s terrible though is leveling up as outlaw or any spec for that matter, our AOE abilities do not become available until later on which sucks. Bladeflurry you don’t get until 63 which you really need long before that.

Completely unrelated, but I really like your mog.

Agreed, I’ll kneel at the entrance near the head of the table in our class hall for nostalgic reasons. Sometimes I get a chuckle from passerbys.

Honestly? PVP is my favorite part of the game and I was tired of getting blown up by a rogue as both a warrior and a hunter lol.

Everything I hated about playing against a rogue is what I’m already liking. The ability to cc/slow while dropping crazy damage. The ability to pick your fights and reset them if you need to. Knowing that people are going “aw hell” when you’re heading their way and then disappear.

Yup, energy and CP management is also the other big draw of playing Rogue!

Don’t forget creative uses of stealth and distract.

Sitting outside of Nyalotha raid with the grapple mount net launcher thing, knocking unsuspecting people out of the air.

It was the first character I created in Vanilla and the first I actually learned to play properly. I have played every other class except for priest since then, but I keep coming back to rogue because of stealth. It suits my antisocial personality.

Best class in the game, imo.

Also xmogs can look sexie too especially on belf and void elf.

Only issue with that is you sometimes get whispers from horny men that wanna do things to your avatar.
