For me, i’m Alliance only. I play Alliance because i LOVE the high western fantasy vibe, plus a lot of the places are beautiful.
I don’t play Horde mainly because Orgrimmar tbh. I just can’t stand it. It looks ugly and hard to navigate (tried a horde druid once, didn’t last for more than 15 levels). It’s funny though, i hate Orgrimmar with a passion but i like both orcs and their heritage armors.
I know that we barely go to our capitals anymore but you still have to go to them at some point. Whether to use portals or do some of the holiday stuff
I play alliance for the cities and their locations mostly. Always feels easy to move around and get where I want quick. I also like alliance characters more often than the horde ones yet I do like the horde races when players play them more than other alliance players.
I switched to alliance because MG is fully alliance but I can’t stand it. The horde has some of the best races in the game (undead, tauren, goblins)
Their capitals are so stupid though my god. Why anyone would want to hang out at org instead of silvermoon or even thunderbluff is beyond me. Placing the portal rooms in 1 capital only certainly didn’t help
I like the Alliance Races, Cities, and Zones more. Tried being a Horde, didn’t work. Though I have said before if Ogres were added, that might make me change my mind, perhaps.
I have played alliance for my entire 15 years of playing the game until making my Vulpera last week. But I waited until pretty much everything was cross faction before I made her. I just think they are so cute.
I play two factions, because it used to result in two stories with differing perspectives, characters and points of view. Now it’s just habit, I guess. I like my orcs.
In this way, we are diminished as the factions dissolve. One streamlined experience for everyone.
My first character was a human warlock made at the beginning of TBC. Less than a year later I rolled a blood elf priest (horde) and have been playing that ever since. To be fair I always liked the music in elwynn forest, stormwind, and ironforge. Back in the day we’d have huge 40 man raids on the cities so I’d still get to hear the music from time to time as we took out the auctioneers on the opposing side.
Oh and edit: No flying in the old world back then, we’d go to booty bay and run there on ground mounts. Ah, those were the days…
After years of Horde bias being spouted I decided to try out Alliance and man… the story is just so much smoother. I’ve been slowing transitioning over. You can argue the Horde is important to the story but the player experience is awful. Might stick with Alliance moving forward.
My single horde toon is Zandalari, and the reason why most people play one faction is the many penalties for cross-faction. You can’t level together cross-faction since it doesn’t support open world questing and mob tagging. You can’t queue cross-faction for dungeonfinder, etc.
My very first character was a Night Elf Warrior. After everything that had happened with my guild and friends dropping out during that period it was with great regret I gave up that account. Wish I did not but at the time was not worth it. Made a new one that has been on and off as each expansions had it’s highs and lows. Some more than the other. This other account is more Horde than Alliance as many of the player base for Alliance seem to be bad. Usually solo a lot if I play one of my Alliance toons where as I would look for PvP as a Horde more. Not much but the Horde player base is kinder. So…FOR THE HORDE!
