What caught your eye and keeps your around?
These days I love the Survival spec! But I have always loved playing a pet class. Having said that, I also don’t mind the MM fantasy! It is just a fun class.
I liked the idea of being an archer with a pet. I stayed with it because I like the good soloing ability and because, before Legion, we had no downtime. Of course Legion came along and took Steady Shot from BM hunters and now we have to deal with downtime. I still do like that BM hunters are fully mobile at range.
Pets, nuff said
I like pet classes and how they’ve kept adding to the pet list over the years. Hunter has always felt the most comfortable class for me to play, played since vanilla. I like ranged classes that’s a plus. Also like despite what some think, it takes quite a bit of skill to get the most out of the class pvp or pve. Adding a melee spec has been an interesting change and spiced things up a bit after all these years.
My first MMORPG was Tibia, a 2D game. I loved playing a Paladin which was considered a Archer. After I got hunted off the server I played, I started WoW. I wanted the same feel that I had in Tibia and chose a Hunter because of the ranged weapons I could use. Since then, I’ve created several Hunters over the years and enjoy them all! Hunters rule!!!
I wanted to play and archer. This is my only choice.
Gun, bow , pet…
I have a thing for classes with both a melee DPS and a ranged DPS spec. Being able to change styles while questing, etc really keeps things interesting.
As you can probably tell, I started playing hunter seriously in Legion. Before it was just another alt.
100%. Ranged. Mobility.
Pets. Especially turtles cause I raised 2 turtles when I was young.
Taming awesome exotic pets, running amok in Azeroth with said pets, forming a bond with each pet I tame most of all Hati without playing a hunter I wouldn’t know of Hati and we get him back soon.
One other thing for me, (more so now with the current Survival spec), is this reminds me a little of the Beastlord class from Everquest, which was my main for a very long time.
I’ve wanted a melee hunter spec since Vanilla, and look what finally happened.
Before WoW, I played Everquest as a Monk. I also loved the Beastmaster class in that game. So when hunters had Feign Death, it was a no brainer for me.
When I first started the game back in BC I tried to play survival like it is played now. I love the way survival plays now.
Survival was a weird spec back then. My guild had 1 hunter specced like that for the penetration debuff.
I like to challenge myself by playing a class with the worst specs for pvp and pve. Really brings out the need to jump off a bridge.
I just really enjoy having the ability to go into war mode or a bg and just assassinate someone from stealth 68 yards away. MM packs that element of surprise that really catches some people off guard.
Then any melee in the game runs at you and you die.
- In most RPG’s I’ve always played nature based classes like druids or rangers. I don’t care for druids not having a variety of choices in their forms so I picked hunter instead.
- Being able to solo 122 rares.
- I’ve always preferred ranged classes because I have a tendency to get grouped with tanks that move all over the place randomly.
- BM’s mobility feels great. Both the 30% increase to speed and being able to move while not losing out on dps.
- In wrath the 20’s and 30’s brackets were a blast being able to solo kite multiple melee classes with flares, traps, spider roots, and concussive shots.
- The class has some good mogs (although most are actually shaman look alike teirs)
- Having pets is another thing that warms my collectors heart.
