Let’s face it. Horde dominates raid, mythic+, pvp, dev attention, and they even got better allied races. With the massive Horde bias in the game I really have to wonder: Alliance players, why do you main Alliance?
Personally, I play Alliance because it has the superior aesthetic. No matter how OP Horde gets from all the favor they receive, I’ll never be able to set my hearthstone to some poophut capital. The races are also way better looking and have superior lore 
I play alliance because I have more than one braincell and instead of following the “meta” or crowd I choose what I like.

Alliance have much prettier and aesthetically pleasing races.
Because I just don’t like the Horde, it’s really that simple. I hate their lore, I hate their aesthetics, I hate their NPCs, I hate their obsession with the color red, I hate everything about them. I’ve tried to force myself to play Horde many times over the years and I always just want to log off and play something else instead.
I don’t like being evil and I’m not a bandwagoner. I’d rather be the underdog.
Because it’s what my friends play on. Pretty much any advantage of playing horde aside from HoF raiding is about to go away anyway, so that’s good.
Cause world pvp is harder and i love Tyrande and Jaina
Ironically, my highest level Ally alt is a worgen warrior (with a handy /roar macro I can hit whenever I’m feeling particularly vicious). Who needs pretty when you can have a bloodthirsty murder machine?
More honor points in battlegrounds, and shorter queues too

For awhile I thought male Zandalari trolls were the most attractive druids but now I think it’s male night elves
But the main reason is that it costs like $30 per toon to switch; if I were to start over I’d probably mostly play Horde
I love playing both factions. I’m paying for the whole game, why get only half the story?
Because we have the better Garrisons. No amount of Belves, Nightborne, Vulpera, etc., will make me like the Horde Garrison, any better. If I could park ALL my garrisons in Lunarfall, I would. Until then, I’m sticking with the Alliance. Especially, since we got the very controversial Velves, that I can now park in Lunarfall Garrisons. I just unlocked the Kul Tiran, recently. Along with the Dark Iron Dwarves, but that’s only because it came, naturally, when I was unlocking the Kul Tiran, so I might as well. The only Allied Race (on Alliance) I’m missing, now is the Mechagnomes, but I hardly play Gnomes on Alliance, anyway, so I think I’m good 
Alliance specific battle pets. Otherwise I’d have no reason to play the inferior faction.
I refuse to associate with evil, pretend or not evil is evil. The Horde is evil. Period.
My choice is based on race rather than faction.
I love my Vampiric Night Elf and her fangs and she looks good wielding a scythe 
( If I could play her as Horde I would.)
