Sorry, you’re right, “Instance” wasn’t the right word, I meant “Grouped instance”. Visions offered gear above heroic raid level but below Mythic, that’s what I’m asking for. Torghast would have been the perfect place for such a system. And yes, completing WQ faster, ability to solo harder mobs, those are perfectly valid reasons for wanting better gear.
And I do realize Daddy Blizz isn’t limiting the gear 100% because Ion hates casuals (he does). They are 50% doing it because actual raiders will try to cheese the casual systems, burn themselves out for a 0.5% throughput increase, and then cry incessantly to Daddy Blizz that “I can’t stop myself from doing everyone else’s content, take it away so I don’t feel tempted”. Happened to profession perks, happened to Benthic, happened to WF/TF, happened to Valor/Justice/tokens and is why PvP gearing is stifled. I don’t mind being a second class citizen. I DO MIND being a third class citizen just because the “elite” raiders can’t control themselves and demand anything remotely good being taken away from everyone else.

Speak for yourself. I raid almost entirely for the mount chance/xmog.
This thread isn’t even about casuals not getting gear, it’s about people who literally only do WQs and story stuff? There are plenty of casuals who still do dungeons and pvp. Casual IS NOT a catch all term for people who don’t raid higher than lfr.
Anyway, it’s fine the way it is. The pve progression path is currently normal dungeons > wqs > heroics > m0s > lfr > normal > 1-9 keys > heroic > 10-13s > 14+ > mythic raid/great vault

Why do you need a higher drop rate on gear when you obviously have the gear to clear the raid already.
Is it just me or would gear feel a lot less “essential” if gaining levels actually meant anything?
Us ladies know to avoid people with big, shiny new trucks with ridiculous lifts. There’s always a… little… reason 
Kidding aside, I think they took the overworld gear nerfs too far but agree that you don’t need 200 ilvl to explore the world.

Most of the time casuals aren’t asking for mythic gear. We just want a way above heroic dungeons that doesn’t require raiding or pvp.
I think bfa did it pretty well, you could get normal level loot of wqs and maybe heroic level after enough grinding.
Now? I ignore gear world quests because its all useless to me. I’m 171 and wqs give me 148 gear. Useless.

Mythic 0 ilvl 184 gear does in fact basically fall out of the sky. You can get it with a little honor grinding.
Yes the bodyguards in WOD and Legion can be likened to the abominations in Maldraxxus. Except in WOD, you could level your bodyguard. And in Legion you could equip your bodyguards with bodyguard specific items.
Bodyguards don’t have to simply be dps. As we have seen we have abominations which can heal or tank. It wouldn’t be much of a stretch to have utilities added to them.
My point wasn’t that raiders are the only people deserving progression. Different types of progression should follow different paths in different ways.

i don’t see why other people judge in that sense. you paying for the car? you paying for my game time? no then why does it bother you or affect you?
for me i don’t do mythic raiding yet i try to gear up/min max as if i were. i mean skill wise i can its just i don’t have the work schedule to invest into raiding mythics hell i have a hard time finding groups just for normal/heroic ( guild wise ). i enjoy the way i play and that is all that matters to me. if you enjoy the car you drive for w.e. reason maybe you like how it looks, first car you bought with your own money, dads/moms car and they passed away w.e. the reason. if you aint doing it because you enjoy it why you even putting energy into it?
i treat this game like i treat rl. don’t do anything that isn’t fun to me and idc what your opinion is. your entitled to your opinion doesn’t mean i need to give any F’s about it.

Ion said Legion is tuned fine and we just need more gear, so the answer is “I need M level raid gear to do Legion content” then when SL ends and 10.0 rolls around and BFA isn’t soloable as it should have been I’ll need M level raid gear to do BFA raids
