Why do I use a ford f250 super duty as my daily driver when I don’t tow? Why do people buy high-performance cars when they only drive 80 mph max? I could go on and on but it’s because we can. Having good gear makes the game smoother.
Ok. Then do the activities that award you the ilvl gear you want.
Mythic ilvl gear just isn’t going to rain from the sky.
Also driving big trucks and expensive cars for no good reason is just compensating for other short comings.
Just because you don’t THINK they have a “good reason” doesn’t mean they don’t have one.
Ah the bitter persons argument. Maybe just be happy for someone who was able to drive the car they wanted instead of trying to diminish them.
Agree.
@Op, in order for you to get that big truck you would need to work harder and save up far more money than you would for a smaller, economical car.
So…
I don’t care for country music, but when I was on the road a lot there was a county station I listened to regularly because it was consistently in range and there was that one song that went “No he must not amount to much by the size of that little truck…”
and I was like Dude, no. HE’S doing fine, you’re not.
because ‘merica’ i assume.
Why do I need gear? Because until I can two shot everything in the non-instanced world I’m not good enough, that’s why.
Doesn’t make the game any less crap for certain specs that outright broken or useless.
A Fury Warrior for instance.
Having a truck is useful. Much like having a dashcam in Europe is due to insurance fraud.
Only downside is if you have a friend that likes to move often
There’s no reason it couldn’t be rewarded from some other activity, is the point.
It’s the I couldn’t afford it so I’ll hate on them instead mentality. Quite sad to see.
but he says he doesnt tow
It even makes sense from a business perspective. The majority of WoW players are casuals who don’t need great gear for what they do. However, in order to keep them subscribed, even they need to have a sense of progression.
Should these casuals get elite mythic raiding gear? No. But should they have a line of progression beyond ilvl 171 gear? Yes.
Its not like trucks have beds or anything…

If you aren’t going to do the content for the gear, you don’t need it.
If you are doing content that doesn’t need that high quality gear, you also don’t need it.
Your analogy is pathetic, it doesn’t apply to this scenario.
Because I want to look pretty. Well, as pretty as a bag o’ bones can be.
Oh, and not get my posterior kicked by the equivalent of an overgrown mawrat.
Back on subject until my work hours stabilize I’m pretty much screwed for raiding or real progression. The lack of emissaries does hurt currently I feel like I’m in an impasse for progressing.
I know that doesn’t stop me from making my own groups for keys
Except there is also the options of RAID or PVP. Not to mention a weekly chest that guarantees you a high level piece for participating in the content. If you aren’t doing RAID, M+ or PVP, you really don’t need it. Then it just boils down to you wanting a high level piece of gear for trivial content, a la WQs, which reaffirms the point he was making.
