I started playing near the end of vanilla. At the time, only hunters and warlocks had the option of a pet. I selected a warlock because it sounded similar to a necromancer from my Diablo days.
I enjoy Demonology and having a legion of demons doing my bidding.

PS All I want for Shadowlands is an interrupt for my felguard.

I started my lock in mists, during the peak of the class. I was destro and have been ever since. I continue to main because all my time in WoW has been on warlock, just not on this one specifically. I started this guy in WoD. The feature I like the most, probably demonic circle even though I go mortal coil. TP’ing around like that is super fun. If you’d have asked me in Legion, summoning 4 infernals or dimensional rift would’ve been my favorite. But with BfA warlock? I don’t really enjoy it. I’m close to just jumping ship to survival hunter if SL doesn’t change Destro or Aff (I dislike modern demo tbh). My fantasy, kinda lost it after Legion. I should redevelop one.

I’ve played warlock for a long time and everything about it just clicks with me. There are arguably better classes but I just can’t play them as effectively as my lock. It feels more natural to me, also I’ve unlocked boatloads of stuff that I don’t have on any other toons. So there’s that.
Big damage and demons.
Literally just walk around Dreadscar. I love it.

At the moment I feel like we’re very limited, I want my control back via baseline cc and mobility via fel flame. I love the class but the moment I step into PvP I just get trained and it doesn’t feel fun to have a very limited toolkit to deal with that. I’d like destro damage to be moved from chaos bolt and spread across all my spells, I still want chaos bolt to be powerful, but not as powerful as it is I do have other spells! Demo I feel needs to be beefed up in the damage area. And afflic I’d prefer to have the older playstyle of multidotting back. Currently the dot durations are slightly too low and I hate having to multi cast UA to do any damage. I just wanna line up my dots, and move onto the next target and let them do their thing. Pushing damage back into all my dots is also a must cause it feels crappy to have corruption and agony do bugger all.

To be a Fringe Mage, someone who goes against what normally is accepted of a magic user, but still as important. Also a bit of a Know Thy Enemy mixed with Fighting Fire With Fire.

Been one forever, from it’s highs and it’s lows. Though It’s never felt as low as it has now. (Demonology main so that x5)

I’m tired of being Effective, but not fun. And Screw Imps, I hate them, and the fact that they are so core to everything in Demo, they couldn’t come up with a better demon? Seriously? Give us a flock of Bilescourge floating around! Now that would be cool!

Wish I didn’t like the aesthetic of warlock so much, because the specs suck. I don’t care for demo anymore since we lost meta, affliction doesn’t flow well at all even with the SL changes, and destro is so brain dead I can play with just my mouse.

Well i started warlock in wrath and have mained it since then, that being said the reason i still do is because all of my stuff is on this character and if i could change this characters class i would do it considering how screwed up warlock has been since legion.

Ever since mid-WoD I’ve been a Destro player (no real reason in WoD as Aff and Demo were still fun) but in Legion I committed completely to Destro because of the changes to the other specs felt too alien to me and I’m a fan of the build-spend playstyle.

Ever since the end of MoP we’ve had so much stuff peeled from the class and specs it’s becoming harder and harder to enjoy Warlock when you know we had a lot of gameplay options and those are just disappearing expansion to expansion. Sure, Shadowlands is giving us some stuff back but the initial Alpha is full of stuff that I don’t think much of anyone asked for.

I’m hoping they get the right feedback because I’m unsure if I can handle another expansion of BFA Destro.

With the revamp in MoP, no other class really had the ability to wait for trinket procs and then unload like the warlocks did. I like being able to store power for the right moment and other classes don’t really have that.
Other builder spender types allow you to maybe store 1 powerful ability while warlocks have allowed you to store many. This has diminished over time but warlocks are still #1 when it comes to being able to choose our moments.

I mained Warlock Vanilla-> late WoD

they absolutely broke the class at the end of WoD

demonic circle was an awesome ability, I had so much fun with it
the class used to feel great, used to be able to control fights, multi-task with demon, cc, summon people, do all sorts of things
not sure what its like now, haven’t played lock in retail for some time

I played specifically to give meta a try in Mists and fell in love with demo. Loved the stronger demons with GoSup as well. Then I took a break in WoD, came back in legion and felt very disappointed… affliction was fun enough. BFA was better but then demo just couldn’t keep up in the end. I’m holding on to false hope that maybe they will make the necessary changes in SL.

Warlock was my first class in WoW, I started playing on my mates account back in BC to give the game a try. I chose the warlock because they were pretty self sufficient with their various demons, drains and DoT’s.

I always liked the DoT playstyle of affliction, I never cared about my lack of burst because I knew if I nailed my rotation and kept maximum DoT uptime I would have great consistent damage over the course of a fight.

Warlocks today make me sad I have been trying to move to a different main but I just know affliction so well, it makes playing other classes really challenging to adapt to.

Warlock is awesome. Affliction I like the play style in BC. Demo you guys hit the head on the nail with changes for that. And destro I’ve already talked about the changes for that. They need to revert back to the old thing.
