i personally wouldn’t say all that lol, but mind control is alot of fun imo. In both pve and pvp lol.
Your not missing anything. If you don’t like a race or class, don’t play it.
As for others, if your just curious then fine but don’t let the fact that someone else likes something you don’t like force you into playing a 'toon you don’t like.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat upon him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with the sword, and with hunger, and with death and with the beasts of the earth.
~ Revelation 6:8
I mainly just like the theme of it. Even more if forsaken, showing bones, and the edgiest mog available. Peak awesomeness.
The original lore is great as well.
I’ve ever been a fan. I prefer the druid asthetic. Good thing is you don’t have to like it or play it.
Aesthetic is here to stay, that’s gonna be a hard one to overcome. Aside from ghoul and frost wyrm , frost really has a heavy ice/wind/cold feel to it. There isn’t much undeath.
Unholy, yeah that’s the whole gimmick there.
Blood is like 50/50.
All the specs are far more engaging at max level. Blood in particular benefits from haste and our last 2 tier sets.
I like the spell blade themes of using either frost magic or blood magic in melee. Not a fan of Unholy though. I find it impossible to play both skill wise and just thematically. I don’t do the whole zombie army or disease master thing.
Because we do what the living cannot
I play one because it pleased Grandfather Nurgle.
For me, it started with the lore and the narration at the beginning of the original starting zone sums it up well: “A hero… that’s what you once were.” Death Knights gave their lives to oppose the Scourge, only to be brought back in service to that very same unholy crusade.
I love the moment where you’re confronted with a former comrade-in-arms of your race, who immediately recognizes you and tries to reason with you. They are so loyal to you that in the end they urge you to kill them to save your own life, on the mere hope that someday you will break free from the Lich King’s chains. And then because of a miracle you do break free, affording you a chance to become a hero once again and wield your dark powers against the one who cursed you with them.
Gameplay-wise it’s not my favorite, but for me story > gameplay and the lore and class fantasy check all my boxes.
I run into the same problem here. I actually enjoy blood dk in groups though, but I’m not too keen on the concept. For me personally it’s just that it’s hard to imagine a dk doing the altruistic things that the game wants me to do. And I don’t really rp, but I always kinda have a sense of rp in my head about why the character does what they do.
I mained dk in legion and that was a lot of fun, and the class order hall gave me a real sense of purpose with the character.
The big thing I’ve found is if you can’t relate at all the aesthetic of a class, it is really hard to find the will to play it. Finding a class, you like the aesthetic and playstyle is kinda the only way to find a good main.
It’s no secret that modern DK class design is awful, and I say that as someone who mained one day one WotLK. Hopefully Warthin will be better but given how many of the awful mechanics plaguing it they straight up refuse to get rid of, I’m not getting my hopes up.
I’ve always liked the aesthetic of DK and there was a time when it was a powerful, flavorful class with a lot of unique abilities but at this point it’s mostly mained by people with sunk cost fallacy.
Yeah we might be the opposite person. I think MC is boring.
I pretty much just like the stuff you dislike. Remix has reignited my love for DK to the point I could easily be a DK main in TWW. There’s some things I’d change but I’m sure that applies to even everyone’s favorite classes. And storywise, Gorebringer hit the nail on the head. I also really like the angle they have in Legion too where they are willing to do the unforgivable stuff so the living doesn’t have to.
I just wish they would bring class quests back. Even if it’s something short like say 3 extra quests. I’m sure that would add up on each class, but I think that would help a lot with just telling us why each class is in the new area. Let people headcanon their way from there.
The class fantasy and armor sets.
I love grip for tanking and self healing.
Wish frost had a good 2h oblit build because i hate breath. Unholy isnt my jam tho.
My blood DK is my favorite alt.
I love:
Mob movement with deathgrip x2, aoe grip, and Slappy hands.
Being able to go immune to many things. AMS magic, IBF stuns, DA knockbacks, Lichborne fear
I really liked legion’s frost, but nowadays frost just seems so slow. I have no idea how to describe it because it’s very similiar to legion ability wise.
I like the playstyle.
Male Human Paladin.
