in fairness one of my employees was asking about the game how it works etc. he was born the year after release.
of course he told me this after I mentioned I had played since release⊠sigh⊠going to get my walker now.

anniversary events are no an accomplishment. If bringing ANNIVERSARY stuff back is your idea of belittling player accomplishment, then I pray I never learn what you do find challenging. Caring about worthless cosmetics and mounts is crazy. As long as they dont bring .05% title mounts, and removed from the game Feats of Strength mounts, its all good. So far they have only brought back worthless mounts and cosmetics that only the worst casual thinks has prestige.
If they were to pay it in all pennies since they started playing, I think it could be.

I believe this is not just about the event, but the trader post as well. Ashes of Alar for doing 5 wq seems pretty lackluster (sure you have to do 3 others things too) but a guaranteed drop.
I mean, I bought the red corehound mount from the BMAH a while back for like 600k? So Iâm a little miffed about that. But otherwise, meh.
At least they arenât bringing back skill based rewards.
Your sense of achievement, accomplishment, and notoriety tied to these rewards is misplaced. If you realized how little people thought of your in game accomplishments, you probably wouldnât give them much thought either.
They do it to make money. 
why did you insist on equating personal value to intangible silly pets or funny weapons online? I canât wait to get all the things Iâve ever wanted and more and I will enjoy every second of it. Iâll celebrate with everyone finally getting things that theyâve wanted but missed. Everyone being happier for things is better for the game than sad internet men gatekeeping their precious pixels

Notoriety
Iâve already come to terms with the fact that Blizzard is giving out items from my collection, items whose mere possession gave me joy and a sense of value for the time I invested in the game. My problem is that my interest in the game is fading. For example, I obtained Invincible twice, on European and American servers, and it was hell. If they give it away, Iâll be more devastated than usual. My collection, besides Invincible, contains many things that required titanic effort, perseverance, and sometimes even tears. I almost cried when I couldnât find TLPD the first time. It was painful to visit Northrend until I finally caught it. I didnât sleep for a week straight because of it. If Blizzard devalues all of this, Iâll just leave the gameânot because the game is bad, but because it would hurt and, worst of all, it wouldnât be interesting to play anymore. Collections are my main goal in WoW. When I get something that most people donât have through effort and persistence, I feel satisfied. But Iâve already come to terms with them devaluing things, and Iâm scared that Iâll completely lose interest in the game.
Dude there was a time when I was on your side but they destroyed any meaning the stuff in this game had long ago
I know it sucks to go through but they decided to choose money over authenticity and canablize their reputation a long time ago.

As someone with 99% of those holiday items, as well as a lot of other removed from game items⊠LET IT GO!
Let other people enjoy the items too. You never see anyone running around with them anyway. You still have the achievement date earlier than anyone else who gets it later on. Also if they are going to keep doing this for all PvE items, then they damn sure better do it for the PvP sets as well.

Itâs a one time anniversary event, that will take another 20 years before they bring this âlucrativeâ item back. Quit crying. If it took a decade for whatever youâre complaining about to become available again, itâs still lucrative.
