Why do you design your characters the way you do?

I wanted to be as tauren and druid as possible.

I like thinking about their story and personality, and then giving them outfits that I feel best reflect those character traits and experiences.

I like to play the lesser liked races. I have a couple of gnomes, mechagnomes, and goblins. Oh, and i few dwarves. I love my tiny friends.

I like Elves and Pandas!
Right now my character looks hysterical lmao.
This hat is so bad.

When I started in BC I rolled a mage because my friend told me it would be perfect for me. Turns out her real play was to also have me as a personal vending machine and portal taxi service.

It worked out for me though because I wanted to be a caster and be able to look good in the gear.

Am I a lesbian? I exclusively make female toons.

Iā€™ll just go with Rosenivyā€™s new form

The skin tone was because it looked like something a withered or wretched sindorei would be. Iā€™ve always wanted to be able to look like one of the starved for power ones

The hair was Rosenivyā€™s idea. I was roleplaying while picking stuff out. They had long hair for the longest time and also just really liked the thought of twirling the braids around their finger.

The eyes were because we donā€™t have scar options so I went with the next best thing. He canonically has a burn scar on the lower left side of their face

Other players choices for their toons. I noticed all the humans were smiley while killing Orcs, trolls, etc so I gave mine resting ā€œBā€ face. The sneer she had was either toned down or removed in Cata which disappointed me. I didnā€™t see many angry looking human females in the BC/Wrath era so I really liked her with that sneer.

Sometimes I consider the class. My draenei pally has the short haircut because she doesnā€™t like blood in her hair. Iā€™m not RP-ing with this, but I did think ā€œhow would a melee fighter want their hair?ā€ I know that if I were this character the last thing I would care about is my hairstyle and wouldnā€™t want to have to worry about my hair falling in my face during a fight. I have actually gone to the barber shop to check out different hairstyles, but I can never bring myself to pay for the change.

Iā€™m honestly not impressed by character creation in this game anymore and for many races the selection isnā€™t varied enough to matter. Because of this Iā€™ve pretty much quit bothering trying make any toon I role look a certain way.
Fiddling with the choices just makes me more disappointed in Blizzā€™s lack character options honestly. The only thing I change around are skin tone and hair color/style - everything else looks the same to me.

Most of my toons are based off of D&D characters Iā€™ve made as a player, D&D characters I made as an NPC while DMing or D&D characters other people in one of my groups have made.

As far as customizations goes Iā€™m still not happy about them & wish we had a lot more. Only one so far looks similar to how she was described to look in D&D.

As odd as it may seem in a fantasy game, I like to give my toon a somewhat realistic look, which mostly means no garish, oversized, obfuscating gear. I like simple and minimal.

I like small weapons because I like to get as close as possible to having a bare-handed fighting look. Also, it looks more devastating when she beats something with giant weapons (this is a ā€˜residualā€™ influence from my Windwalker days).

Finally, since I am a fan of the genre, I like to suggest a superhero-type appearance. Again, sleek and simple.

I just want to say, and by no means am I trying to be disrespectful, but your character always reminds me of a long lost Mario Brother.

I like my characters to feel like they actually belong in the world. So I try to give them semi-realistic outfits.

No offense taken. Every time I look at my avatar I just think of Dr. Eggman/Robotnik & it makes me laugh.

I was going for a ā€œgrumpy old manā€ look, someone whoā€™d been around the block a few times.

I like sci-fi type stuff so I went with the literal aliens
I picked female because draenei male are too wide. (Seriously, Velen proportions would have been better than the muscle fridges)
I picked horns, skin tone, tail length, hair color, and even thick tendrils to play up the ā€œaliennessā€ even more.

I wish I could have a mustache like thatā€¦ :frowning:

Donā€™t Gnomes?

hmmm, well my female toons I thought about my wife and daughter
