What are you talking about? Im not complaining. Im stating I don’t care if someone calls for a reserve, I will do what I want always.
But you’re a tank. If you disagree with a reserve then start your own group. You’ll be more appealing than the guy LFG with a res and will probably even cause people from the reserve group to leave and join yours. Why be a ninja then?

I think what bothers me about reserve, is the sense of entitlement. That YOU deserve it more. When it reality it should really be a /roll. Especially as a tank, it’s easier for tanks to find groups than anyone else.

The group leader is entitled to whatever loot rules he sets. Once again, if you have a problem then don’t. join. the. group.

I came to this thread to lend support to something I find egregious. I regularly run my own groups.

You literally said you would join groups with specific upfront terms and ninja loot despite having the ability to make your own as a tank. Unless your short-term memory doesn’t span more than a single forum post, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Here, let me help you 
Why do this if you disagree with loot terms when you can merely start your own group? I think you’re lying about playing a tank and are just an angry DPS player with an unwarranted sense of self-importance if this is your mentality when it comes to this issue. Tanks are more important than you for group forming and people are willing to let them reserve gear if it means not having to spam trade and LFG chats for 45 minutes trying to find someone to tank. Deal with it or reroll a warrior.

I have no issues withe reserves. I just don’t join groups reserving what I need.
The person putting the group together already has more invested in said group than everyone else in that group.
While you’re finishing up your quests or putzing around. That person is sitting in trade, trying to pull a viable group together from the nether.
Same with tanking and healing. You don’t want the added responsibility of being a tank or healer. Good tanks and heals will always be in demand.
Why should i form a group and not stack the deck in my favor? Whether it’s reserving an item, charging gold, or ensuring no one else in the group wants what I need. I’m going to maximize my odds.
Don’t join them if you don’t agree to the established loot rules prior to running the dungeon. There are no universal loot rules.
This is why that crap personal loot system is in the modern game. People don’t get the concept that the rules are different for every group. It’s part of a dynamic world.
Player choice. Join or don’t.

My thoughts are, your spending an hour of your time, but so is everybody else in the group. By “reserving” items you’re limiting your potential group members by tellin them in advance that they won’t be getting that item. You aren’t a unique and irreplaceable tank so i would just look for someone who isn’t demanding loot that everybody deserves a fair chance at getting.
Now if you reserve an item and you’re volunteering to help some guilds raid or guild group and they don’t care, then by all means ask for it, but i want to reiterate that I don’t like the concept so you aren’t invited to groups I’m in, so i wish people weren’t starting to do this everywhere.

Sorry nobody wants to play tanks? Even tank classes have an overabundance of players who would rather DPS instead. It’s an annoying role to play, especially for randoms. If you want a tank who does it for free so badly then keep looking in LFG instead of whining about a reserve group. Or ask a guild member to help you.
The exact opposite is true for certain dungeons, actually. That’s why reserves are so common. Tell me why I would run Stratholme for a bunch of casters and a healers when there’s several drops in there for them and nothing for me? Tanks will gravitate toward groups who are willing to help them as well. If a 1/5 chance to win a 30g mat is worth to you than not having to spam LFG for 45 minutes, then do that instead.
Nobody cares. If a tank needs to run any dungeon in the game, they can find a group instantly. If you wanna further lessen your pool of tanks to choose from because you find it morally wrong for someone to not spend an hour of their time running a dungeon and helping you for free, by all means. You’ll probably end up ignoring all 10 tanks on your server soon enough

Apparently not, given that they were spamming trade chat for an hour trying to fill that “all orbs reserved” group. People aren’t buying that kind of nonsense.

Standard for tanks is 1-2 orbs res. Maybe if it’s super early in the morning and he’s the only tank on the server offering to do it he might get away with all of them. I charge 2 orbs per run and I can find groups just fine in spite of people getting assblassted about my “entitlement” in LFG.
Strange then that I run it all the time and have yet to do a run where anything is reserved. I guess people are just less toxic on my server than usual.

It’s “toxic” for wanting to be compensated somehow for your time investment if you don’t need any gear from the dungeon itself?
Also what server did you roll on with so many tanks running Strat of all dungeons for free? I’m sure all of the whiners in this thread would love to reroll on it.
I think it is a fundamental difference of how we see the game. Playing the game and enjoying it is my compensation. I didn’t think every group was a business transaction and you need extra compensation other than playing the game you agreed to pay to play. Do you though and if people join the “reserve” groups they must be fine with it.

There are way more enjoyable things I could be doing in WoW than running dungeons I don’t need any gear from and I’m sure most tanks would agree. Stratholme is miserable, especially in a group who doesn’t know what they’re doing.
If you want a geared tank in a timely fashion that knows how to do to the dungeon, a lot will run it for an orb or two. If you want to roll on the first/second orb on top of rolling on the gear the dungeon has for you, you can do that too. Just expect to wait longer to find someone willing.

That’s not what the OP did. OP couldn’t replace those dime a dozen players and instead got roasted in trade for hours on end. So what does he do about it?
He comes to the forums to complain about not finding groups and getting bullied.
Tell us again how everyone is replaceable when the tank cant find a group to run with lol.
