Why do you cry about reserve groups?

Because it’s just dumb and it’s an MMO with basic loot rules that you are making overly complicated out of selfishness. Just play the game and get the loot if you get the loot like everyone else.

No, by reserving an orb, people can choose to join my group, obviously a healer who needs mats probably wouldn’t want to join. Again, you do not have to join… very easy concept

This is exactly why Classic is so much better where your reputation actually matters. As pointed out before, you are welcome to advertise something as ridiculous as a strat live run with orbs on reserve. Consequences are you getting mocked and excluded from running content with people that realize it is narcissistic douchebagery. Everything works, probably good idea to reroll lol.

Plenty of other tanks.

And other players’ good opinions.

While im not against reserve groups (if you look at my post history you can clearly tell i do them myself) i am somewhat against Res groups that do not advertise this until party is formed and pretty much at the dungeon.

say for example doing a Strat Live as a Warrior and you invite a Rogue, Feral, Hunter, Enh Shaman you wait for them to travel all the way to the dungeon and than say “unforgiven helm is on res, first Orb on res”, now you have just leveraged that classes ability to find groups against there time investment, by dangling in front of them the time they have already traveled AND the time it would take them to find another group for said dungeon they are more likely to begrudgingly accept your Dungeon Res run.

its like seeing a homeless man on the street and telling him to hop in your car your going to take him out for a steak dinner, now once you drive him to the stakehouse you tell him “if you want this stake dinner, your going to have to walk in there naked first” now theres a good chance he might do it, hes already traveled with you, hes hungry, he can virtually taste the steak already. but now you have leveraged with him terms that he would not have agreed to had you disclosed this on the street when you first saw him. This is an obviously extreme example.

Sure there are, chief. But my /lfg and /world dont really reflect that. My group, my healer. 3 dps are replaceable.

The group leader can make whatever rules he wants. 1 or 2 orb drops is within reason, seeing as how I can usually get group members in under 10 minutes on those conditions.

If you disagree with my terms for tanking, don’t join my group and start your own. Pretty simple. No need to cry about it.

You answered your own question!
:joy::rofl:

Exactly. Nevermind the fact that there’s multiple BiS drops for casters and healers to roll for. “But the tank’s getting a free orb and I’m not! Waaah! I gotta piss and moan in trade chat over it!” I can’t imagine being a twenty-something year old and acting like this much of a child.

Because it’s hilarious to watch the comedy that follows.

Reserve groups are a beautiful thing.

They help everyone on the server to identify the weak guilds. If your guild can’t field a five man to get whatever piece of gear it is you’re hunting down then your guild is a piece of #%^+ and the server has a right to know what guilds to poach players from and ignore for alliances/sister guild status. I 100% endorse “reserve groups”. I also 100% endorse mocking them mercilessly to the point that their membership seeks guildship elsewhere, as they should.

You’re trying to prioritize gear your weak links in your weak guilds at the expense of the community at large. That’s exactly what a good guild is for. To get it’s patrons geared. If your guild cannot or WILL NOT provide that function then find a better guild.

OR…

Stop posting reserve groups and hope your luck wins out over the other guy/gal/person. At least then you won’t be mocked and your guild won’t be targeted for poaching.

But you do you and trust in the fact that WE will do the same.

I openly mock the person who is being greedy, just as I’ll call out someone for selling items in trade chat far over the AH price.

Try to cheat people and you’ll get called out, nothing more satisfying than watching a tank advertise that run for an hour while people are getting quick groups left and right for the same instance.

But you do you and keep on greeding on!

And the tank will ignore your screeching in the background and find groups anyway because DPS and healers are dime-a-dozen.

It’s a simple case of them whining because we can do something they can’t. Takes a lot of investment to tank dungeons at times because we practically gimp ourselves in open world which is something a dps never has to do.

I have never complained about it, yet I still think its a BS tactic. The premise suggests that the reservee is more important than the rest of the group.

Personally I will continue to not complain about it, however, if I DID (unlikely) join one of these groups and I NEEDED said reserved item, I would need on it and not care. You (the reservee’s) 15 bucks a month is not worth more than mine.

No, the orbs are in deferment of payment. Not hard to understand.

He could just as easily say “Will tank for 30g/run” but instead says “I’ll tank for an Orb per run”.

If a tank is the one reserving then they are more important than you just by sheer demographics. There is a massive tank shortage in classic. If you are going to attempt to ninja something in a group because you disagree with the leader’s rules then don’t join it and start your own group. Pretty simple. Of course if it ever comes down to you actually having to join a reserve group it proves my point that you simply are not as important in the scope of forming the group since you were unable to form your own. Specify you’re a ninja looter upfront and you’ll be replaced in two seconds with another DPS no problem.

Of course tanks who are aware of your kind will just set loot rules to master anyway before the boss and avoid that issue entirely.

This is literally meaningless. “Besides its color, how is the sky not green?” Would make as much sense.

Nope. They sure aren’t, and I AM a tank.

Then why are you complaining? You will never have to worry about not finding groups for things and put yourself in a situation where you’ll have to ninja something.
