It seriously stupid and the dumbest design that if not broken out of the web you somehow die at full heatlh when it “expires”. Also im tired of party members getting webbed while were all jumping down that big hole into the pond before last boss of AN and they get webbed and die because the other 4 have already dropped down.
Beta dungeons would be so much better if you just increased the health and damage and didn’t add these stupid RNG mechanics that completely own you no matter your skill level because its just a random thing. Clearly you copy and pasted something from retail (mythic plus affixes) to Wrath and nobody ever asked for it.
And the webbing is occurring way too frequently sometimes. I get that’s its random but I’ve seen instances where a healer gets webbed 4 times back to back and can’t even get a heal off and then the group loses a party member. How is that fun?
It’s been a while since I played retail, but I doubt the affixes are as hamfisted and poorly tested as these H++ ones. Certainly nothing like the web wraps.
I think the biggest issue with these webs is that the tank can get webbed and loses threat if this happens.
Which means that dps/healers can get killed almost instantly - even if the tank is broken out very quickly. Especially since everyone has to huddle together to try and break the webs as fast as possible.
Its kind of funny how they did the affixes in beta. Troll dungeons: lets put in a cauldron that entirely neutralizes the mechanic we put in. Made it from the worst titan rune to one of the easiest. Then in the nerubian ones, implement a weak buff, and make it so if you stay back to drink while the group pulls, you die. Ocu/Nexus/VH also feel worse, feels like a lot more mirror images spawn now, so I spend the entire fight just spamming moonfire to kill them instead of doing any DPS.
And they left UP’s affix alone, so you can still randomly die to an ice patch during the 8 second stun unless you’re a mage/paladin. They could at least despawn the ice patch when people get stunned, or something.
It isn’t. There’s nothing fun about any of that at all. It’s interesting that the only fun beta dungeons are the ones where your damage gets buffed and you don’t run out of mana.
RNG BS isn’t “challenging” and doesn’t create a crazy good time.
Have been running Beta AN on my War (tanking it) for a shot at the Axe. So not only do I have to put the group though the boss that everyone skips, we have to deal with the fun that is me getting webbed.
The best is when I get webbed on Anub right as a Pound is about to happen. Ranged, who very likely can’t see me, need to break me out or the boss will spin and take out the melee. Such fun!
they didn’t quite leave it alone, there is now the fireblast dot, and it’s interaction with the ice, but yes you can die if you get glaciate just before the stun. You can minimize this by wearing a pvp trinket and saving it for that scenario.
