So just like stated at this point in wow why can’t just all mount models fly and run on the ground. We have flying cows, moose, cats, a ton of flying models in the game that don’t have wings… so what is the point of having ground mounts that can’t fly…

Waiting for Blizzard to make a shattered zone where it’s just a buncha small islands that can barely hold a house or two.
There are still plenty of places where you can’t fly. And I’d rather use a proper ground mount rather than have a dragon run awkwardly.

They really should just retroactively allow all mounts to fly. Even if they look a little goofy.
That’s true I meant that every mount should be able to fly or be used as a ground mount. It is just interesting because every flying mount can also be used as ground mount but no ground mount can fly. >.>
Cause some of them would look silly flying.

FFXIV just lets all mounts fly–even things that shouldn’t like horses and motorcycles just glide along on a gust of air. I think they explain it away with the player needing to collect magic wind orbs around a zone to be able to ‘attune to the wind’.
I dunno. I wouldn’t hate being able to fly ground mounts in WoW. But maybe exclude vendor mounts.

Apparently we’re getting dynamic ground mounts. One of them is already in the game files on retail if you have the mount journal addon, you can see it in your collections. ATM it’s just reusing the wheel from Mechagon as a placeholder. So chances are we’re going to be getting a no-flying zone again in a future patch.
To walk on the ground?
All mounts can fly in FFXIV.

Fun fact: You have to be still to cast a mount, but mechagon jet pack does that, so u can cast ground mounts way up in the air, you will start to fall right away, but its just funny for some reason.
