For those of you that don’t know – the typical way to deal with necrotic is for the tank to kite (run away) while the rest of the party slows the trash. But sanguine will very quickly heal any trash that stands in it to full health, so if they are slowed it is very bad.
Why design a game with these conflicting affixes, unless the goal is to have less participation in this area of the game for a week? Every time affixes like this come around it seems like a few people I know that do M+ stop logging in.
Sanguine actually works very well with necrotic. Like you said, you have to be kiting anyways. 50% snare isn’t going to screw up sanguine, just don’t root mobs and kill back to front as dps. Have interrupts ready for anyone that even looks like they might want to cast in a sanguine pool and also preferably a typhoon or something. Also always typhoon the mobs sideways with respect to the direction the tank is kiting, not directly towards the tank or directly away from the tank.
Because it makes situational awareness that much more important. Because it makes the fight a running battle instead of just park, tank, and spank. Because they hate warlocks who do poorly in kinetic fights like these.
I really hope this is sarcasm. Affixes are set and locked at the start of every season.
I’d actually 100% be for randomized affixes on keys. It means you get extremely hard combos like this one but the fact you could have so much more variance would be such a breath of fresh air. I’d love if me and my group could actually compare keys week to week and see what we got and decide which we felt we could tackle most effectively (especially since I run a pretty anti meta comp as is).
This is a 1 and done week though and maybe for the bigger toons not even that since I’ve got next to no chance to even get a reward with the time as is. Words truly do not express how sick I am of every fortified week being a personal royal pain in the donkey because of how busted mob damage is and how key breaking a tyrannical wipe is. It is far past time to remove both stupid affixes and/or put them on 20+ keys.
There are players who won’t play the entire week if there’s an unpopular affix.
For me, personally, I like the variety. There are some that are a complete pain, which makes me enjoy them less overall from other weeks. I will still take that over no affixes at all.
While I admit I dont enjoy M+ affixes. I mean who does, I see why they are there. They are meant to make the dungeons more hard and challenging, which IMO they serve their purpose in that sense. Each week you have to alter your route, comp, etc… They are justified, even if I hate them lol
They know i’ve been working real hard to get all 20’s done for past 2 weeks and that I need a break for a week.
But yeah, going to be a nightmare tbh.
Yet again time to search for Dwarf Kyrian Prot paladins. No DKs. Like, at all. Perhaps DH Kyrian. UFR bear. No warriors either.
Lots of aoe CC’s such as frost nova, mass roots, elem aoe stuns etc. No more running 19’s with triple rogue lmao.
Most routes aren’t changing week to week. Just how you approach the pulls themselves.
The problem with this week is you got a heavy tank punishing affix that mandates excessive kiting where groups are incentivized to help slow/root enemies to assist the tank along with an affix that directly punishes you for doing so. Sanguine is literally a free affix in every other pairing.
The other big problem is affixes need better counter play. Necrotic should not have a damage component on the dot and should just be a straight healing absorption and/or healing reduction. We already have grievious as the ouchie dot. I’d even argue necrotic should decay instead of just dropping off at once. If I was even more ballsy (and I am), I’d even add that DK’s in particular, under lichborne, should be EMPOWERED by it since we’re directly tapping into our own inner necrotic death powers…
Bolstering should be dispellable (and at least now will expire on its own) just like enrage can be soothed. These kinds of changes would add some increased viability on specs that suffer greatly from not being meta.
This may be true, I was generally speaking since I havnt ran a M+ in months, as soon as I got KSM S2. I dont find them enjoyable enough past that initial grind. I do agree they need to do something in the sense of making them punishing, yet enjoyable. It shouldnt feel like a grind imo.
They also need to do something to allow for class diversity. When I was doing them, certain classes were never in comp. If you werent a Meta class, you just were not invited. This is a issue…
If you don’t really do M+ and “hate” the affixes then they clearly failed at their job keeping this content interesting to you.
I think everyone here wishes affixes were done with more thought and attention to detail.
Yes, and regardless of what you think about those players many of them are now not returning at all since during one of those weeks they found a different MMO or other game
I don’t have a problem with either affix. My problem is with the two of them being combined
Except M+ gear is not the best gear in the game. You can get the same gear (or better) in both raids and PvP. Season 1 PVP gear was best. So I’m really not sure what you’re talking about please explain
I feel your pain! IMO if you can play another spec this week it might be ideal but I know that’s not always the case
Honestly IMO, they just need to be redeveloped from the ground up. For example, I appreciate the addition of “tormented”, at first it was cool. But if your serious about pushing keys, lets be honest you dont even care which is which, you just go to WoWhead and figure out which is best for power. The options become meaningless. Also adding something in game that required player decision and reading, during content that is timed is flawed from the start…
It honestly blows that this week is Fort/Necro. You know what next week is? Bolstering/Explosive. Yuck! Two awful weeks in a row. I’ve already accepted I won’t be able to push for 2 weeks. I’ll settle for 4x15.
