Why do we fight the council of dreams? This is bad writing

When Tyrande or the Aspects can just tell them that Fyrakk is invading and we need their help or say something to them.

But nope, in classic Warcraft fashion, we just have to beat them unconscious instead…

Who just ignores one third of the raid is on fire and loud noises and fight against the same team without first trying to talk it out?

They are not even “corrupted” (their favorite excuse as to why we are fighting them), they are just bad “protectors” of the world tree and lack awareness of what is going on.

I will say that they will let Fyrakk win and not realize what is going on and still stand there protecting the seed.

This is just bad writing.

Yeah I don’t personally get why we need to fight them or Nymue really. Neither fight really has a good reason other than we need to get past them to click a seed so we can fight Smolderon…a real enemy.

Because they’re not denizens of the dream in the same way the rest of the zone is, they’re individuals who’ve given their lives to serve under direct order of the titans to protect nymue and the weave, we might be “the good guys” but as far as they’re concerned we’re out of jurisdiction and trying to do something that goes directly against everything theyve sworn themselves to do. Important to note Fyrakk and the druids of the flame didn’t even go in there before we did.

Maybe it would’ve made sense if Larodar was behind that wing in the raid as he could’ve commanded them considering he’s a grove keeper. :thinking:

Blizz could have thrown in a charisma roll before the boss . If enough people pass, they just give you some loot and let you pass without fighting.

I get what you’re saying, but from my understanding from a lore point of view, you have to defeat the Council in order to reach Nymue, and then defeat Nymue so you can use her seed, or whatever it is she has to build the bridge and reach Smolderon.

But then one could ask: why not just fly to Smolderon? And keep asking questions indefinitely

The dialogue when you enter that wing mentions that they are the fiercest defenders of the dream and will attack any intruder. Any which one, including us, even though we are there to help.

You could say the same thing about Smolderon. During Legion the Shaman order hall champion literally puts them on the throne. WE are the reason he’s the boss and not dead.

If it wasn’t for us he would have lost out to the rock dude.

And yet here we are. So much for gratitude.
