Why do we even have a GD?

Let’s be serious here. What is this place exactly? In all the years I’ve been on here lurking or posting, maybe 1% of it gets a response from a blue.

I’ve not seen a community manager have any dialogue here. Even the MVPs rarely show up.

At best, if someone trolls, makes an offensive comment, or argues in favor of an unpopular opinion, then the robot moderaters shut it down.

But what is GD? What exactly are we supposed to communicate here? Grievance? Dissatisfaction? Unconstructive feedback? Suggestions? Quitting?

I was not so surreptitiously told by the CS forum to post anything that wasn’t to be “taken seriously” in GD forum.

General WoW junk? I dunno I came here back when the cinematic for Sylvanas’ electric slide dropped to see if I was the only one who hated it. Some people come for help. Some to complain.

Maybe they want to give us the illusion of being listened to.

This forum is just a place for people to get angry, complain, and troll each other. Anyone who is trying to use this forum for any other purpose is living in imagination land.

Its kinda like an electric mosquito trap. Rather than have 'mosquito’s buzzing around devs about this or that, the forums collects it all and it dumps itself out as the posts age out.

General Discussion is the bad subforums of this website, other places like the lounge exclusive level 3 or the lore sections are much better, even customer service lounge threads are better

It’s for players to talk with each other.

But Discord does that way better as well as other community sites.

It’s a place where players can vent steam. And I have no doubt that some lowly intern reads the forum to keep track of current topics.

Why would they take this place seriously?

Half the complaints here are just irrational insults with no basis to back them up.

things dont have a home in another forum. Quest issue? Quest forum, lore question? lore forum, Class grievance, class forum, profession idea… profession forum, so on and so forth. If ya dont dont know where it goes or there isnt a place post it here.

This place is, exactly, “General Discussion.” It’s a place for all of the generals to discuss things. And, as of Warlords of Draenor, we’re ALL generals. It’s not labelled “Feedback Forum,” so if anyone is expecting responses from Blizzard employees, they need to lower their expectations.
