Why does it matter so much what a characters sexuality is. I have never in 30 years of playing games wondered if the character im talking to boinks boys or girls, same when I go out and order my meal at a restaurant. The sexuality of my wiater does not matter, or my bank teller, or my uber driver. These are all just “npc” I encounter on the way to my quest / mission.
In fact the only relationship I can actively recall in game is between Tyrande and Malfurion and it is one of the most annoying parts of the game. Can we just remove all relationships?

My guess is because there are certain groups of people that like to romanticize or sexualize whatever they are into. Its the reason that most every tv show, cartoon, game etc has loads of fanfictions written about it. Rule 34 is a thing as well. Within those groups are people that feel like they are under represented and try to push their lifestyle onto every npc they look at. Personally I couldn’t care who is doing who and what they look like in this game, I’m here for the WAR of Warcraft.

I’m right there with you. But, people are different. There are some people who highly value sexuality in games. They look for it everywhere. Its a large part of who they are, and what they look for in fantasy. You and I aren’t like that, and it can seem weird and off putting when you encounter that. Just remember that you probably seem weird and off putting to them as well. =P

If someone in real life came to me, and the first thing they had to let me know was their sexuality, that is a Person that I would not even dignify with a response. It is just so shallow and such a buzzword its becoming obnoxious.

I am with everyone else that says I really don’t care at all.
I do believe people bring it up though because there is a massive culture war going on in the US right now and it’s getting pretty extreme.
No one just agrees to disagree anymore. Or even just live and let live

So they could make off-brand about the Character with little to no judgement.
I would say that some folks genuinely DO care. Some people are sorting these questions out for themselves, and seeing their own questions reflected in the stories of characters they care about offers validation to their own life’s journey and questions.
I would also assert that there’s another group who is simply trolling and writes posts or comments knowing that they will incite a reaction.

Relationships are part of story telling and sometimes it’s fun to pal along with 1 super serious spymaster and 1 disaster Bi as they break into the enemy vault flirting the whole way.

I concur. Never once occurred to me to even care who has interested in who. It was rarely even a storyline. That goes for games or even comics. Now everyone and everything needs a sexuality and relationship status. If it isnt a plot point, then i dont care.
My hunter is Fae. I got to the story about the 2 husbands. And they didnt make a big deal. It was just a minor plot point. And that was perfect. I dont care if its 2 husbands. I cared more about getting the spell to save one. But some people get upset that its a thing. Why? Get over it and go to the next quest if it upsets you.
It just seems every single day there is a new forum post about High elfs, and having someone or something come out as Gay.
Its a nice break between how the great vault sucks, and how wow is dead, but come on. There has to be something else. at least the twisting corridors broke up the monotony.
I would only care about bwonsamdi’s love exploits, since he brings it up in dungeon, and he’s a sexy troll

Its not that big of a deal but it makes me happy to see more diverse relationships in video games I play… As long as its not forced (which it isn’t, its pretty out of the way).

I mean, I would love to see Velen and Nuuri back together her status is “Unknown” so I like to imagine that someday they’ll be reunited. Why? Cause I love Velen as a character and want to see him happy
