Why do the DRACTHYR look like that?

yes, brother, even the dragon queen must fall.

Considering Alex is being used as a mascot by Blizzard and also works closely with the Titans in WoW lore, it isn’t gonna happen.

Literally just lower their neck and add about 4 more bulkier options past the bulkiest option and they’d look fine.

Back when these Dracthyr were first released many people posted about wanting a chunkier option for them. Lots of fan art was done for what they could have looked like and some of it was fantastic. The feedback was definitely there when they were first announced but they decided to stick to their guns and keep them as these thin Elder Scrolls lizard people.

Not a single dragon or dragon kin in all of WoW looked like these. Can’t really blame the people that want beefier playable dragons.

Not calling for the removal of the option they are giving us, but asking for an option to make them bulkier would be amazing.

They look fine. Not sure what’s up with all the swol fetish around here.

dude, what is your problem? are you that worgen warrior that was raging out on me in another thread? you seem to have some sort of personal vendetta considering you just implied you hope i die.

It’s just an aesthetic thing, they hit that uncanny valley so hard because we’re so used to Dragonkin looking models.

But Blizzard always has to be the unique kid in the playground and feel they have to reinvent the wheel and end up making a square.

I literally never said or implied such thing, I just want to make sure you are having fun in your dream forever! Nobody wants to wake up from dreams they love, right? :slightly_smiling_face:

its hard to gather that considering youve been down my throat in this thread.

im sorry if i misunderstood the inflection. its impossible to determine tone from text.

Other than Alexstrasza, Nozdormu is one of the OG aspects still around as well. We only killed a corrupted alternate timeline version of him. Kalcegos is aspect for the blues and the new aspect for the black dragon flight is being contested by Sartharion and Wrathion. Greens I won’t say because spoilers.

They look horrible make a 3rd body option and call it “male” so I can play one.

Well you know compared to Blood Elves you humans are dumpy and silly looking.

k. we’re done here. reporting and ignoring, and movin on.

I don’t quite agree. I think the issue is less with how the artist feels about the subject matter and more about the general themes the artist wound up using. Some people’s idea of “hot” doesn’t really translate well to different audiences.

maybe on the forums, but i feel like i haven’t seen many complaints about their looks.

especially from the top content creators…just didn’t seem like a big deal compared to some of the other issues…wasn’t even brought up during dev interviews. :broken_heart:

for example, i see more complaints & requests for change across social media about guardian druid nerfs than i have for Drakthyr models since they were revealed.

it’s not that people didn’t want them to look different, but any sort of “movement” to do it, is way too late, and should have been done at the beginning of alpha imo :grimacing:

oh absolutely, it’s a minor issue and frankly there were/are bigger issues with DF.

but I’ve definitely seen lots of complaints on and off the forums about them.

i just wish we were able to make more noise about the models tbh…

it appears like many people actually like the models, and are more upset about their lacking xmog features & customization options.

(i’m one of the players that complained about their models btw…even citing some of the fantasy art from the community, which i felt was way better than blizzard’s) :broken_heart:

So many bad decisions were made with the Dracthyr. Strange appearance, no transmog, no dragon riding with their own wings… someone at blizz obviously has a clear vision for Dracthyr but it’s a weird vision.
