Makes me sad just say soda
Why do northerners call it pop ?
To answer your question, Coca-Cola originated in the South and became the most popular soda, so the name just kinda stuck.
People that say ‘soda’ are wrong.
Coca in Mexico.
Why do Americans even call it soda
In Australia we just refer to it by its name
Also a fun fact is people in Australia refer to soda as fizzy drink rofl
Why ask why?
You all say pop wrong.
This is an important issue with serious research behind it.
its called pop, get it right.
also, im pretty sure thats Georgia that calls everything Coke, as thats where its from. other states may have adopted that too down there in the south.
Because that’s a stereotype that doesn’t really exist anymore. Haven’t had someone say coke and mean soda since I was a kid. Soda = soda Coke = Coca-Cola
I call it fizzy pop here in NZ. Most call it by the brand name tho.
At least we have electric kettles
You also have a few of those psychos that call it ‘pepsi.’
shudders
I’ll usually say soft drink if I mean from a fountain machine. I’ll say “coke” if I actually mean Coca-Cola, but I can be at a fast food joint and say “coke” and they’ll still ask me which one.
I call coke coke and pepsi pepsi etc. I don’t lump it all into a group
I can handle the rare Pepsi if it’s in a can but that Pepsi max is the worst drink ever to be let out into the market
What the hell is a fountain machine
Pepsi is still ‘coke.’
Everything is ‘coke.’
Pepsi is the BFA of soft drinks.
Mr. Pibb is a close second.
Dr. Pepper rounds out the bottom 3.
Think that’s mostly because Americans use 110volts at the wall.
