Tank pulls first pack of 3 mobs, when mobs are nearly dead, move onto next pack of 3 mobs, repeat this for the entire dungeon.
My 2-Min CDs are used on a max of 3 mobs, throughout the entire dungeon. It is doing 2mil DPS instead of 8 mil.
Yes we timed it with plenty of time left, but everyone’s overall damage is simply pathetic because of the way you are pulling. Please dont do that again.
Because that’s what the tank can survive. When DPS do nothing but ungabunga the whole time without helping, pulling 10 mobs even with CDs up can be a death sentence
Can survive 10 mobs for 6-8 seconds as opposed to the entire pull
Because thats how tanking was, and its setting a pace. This DPS competition needs to stop. Who cares so long as you get the thing done in a timely manner?
I attempted 2 10s last night with a friend who plays dps.
I tank and I don’t pull one pack at a time. The dungeons were Dawnbreaker and Ara’Kara. Two of the easiest dungeons this season.
Both times the other two dps had less than 10 overall interrupts the entire dungeon. They used defensive CD’s less than 5 times the entire dungeon.
They butt pulled constantly.
Their DPS was only 300k above mine overall.
They blamed the healer everytime they died.
We couldn’t get past the first boss in Ara’Kara and we were like 5 minutes over time in Dawnbreaker.
Their play was simply pathetic and they wasted everybodies time because they are bad.
Please don’t do that again.
My point being M+ is a grind. There are bad players ( subjective because you still timed the key which would mean it was a successful run by every objective standard. you are just made because you couldn’t stroke your epeen on the meters ) in every facet playing every class/spec in the game. Get over it and move on.
Nobody wants to hear you whine like a child on the forums because you were succesful at timing a key.
Pulling big in pugs can be risky since you never know if people will help with kicks, stuns, etc.
That being said, if the group is obviously having no issues, you can ask the tank next time if he can try pulling bigger. Most people will cooperate in my experience as long as you ask nicely.
So I pick the correct load out.
Yes, sometimes I wonder should I waste a 2-min CD / trinket on this small pack, but once it’s gonna come up for boss, I blow it.
if you timed it with plenty of time left, whats the problem?
I tank 10+ on my DK, pally and warrior. Yesterday was the first time this season a dps started ‘pulling for me’, and actually typed asking me to pull bigger. The problem is im the tank, and I play with the group’s capabilities. We had a 620 healer shaman that was playing his alt and clearly wasn’t the best healer yet we were going at a steady pace in a GB. Yet even if we were totally fine with the pacing, the DH decided my next pulls were too small and proceeded to pull extra groups with my initial ones which led to a wipe because 1. I didn’t pull big because CDs were down and 2. I adjust my pulls and play to what the healer can handle.
So we ended up wiping on trash, which is absolutely stupid. After I tell the guy he can roll a tank if he wants to pull and quickly explaining why I am pulling the way I am he just continues to repeat 3 big aoe dps. due to the wipe I pick up the pace slightly because I want to time the key, but sure enough the healer couldn’t handle the double mobs before third boss heal wise, we wipe again. run back kill them and on the boss the dps gets hit by a fire elementa, wiping the group a third time.
So I left and I get a nice whisper from the dps calling me a noob. I respond k and ignore. If you have a tank that has things timed, is actually timing and are in a pug. Sit down and do your job, if you want crazier pulls, go with a premade and voice. A timed key gives you 12 crests whether you have 5 minutes or 1 minute left on the timer. I am not interested in slogging through for 5 crests.
