Why Do Streamers Get Everything?

the majority of the people on the (very long) list of streamers where you could get the pet are people you’ve never heard of, i guarantee it.

if people are just gifting to their favorite 500k+ follower streamer instead of encouraging a new streamer, that’s on them.

Look guys, streamers ruin MMOs. They take in a large audience, turn it against other players who disagree with their lifestyle, and amass a following that encourages bullying and harassment. They do this, all while making profits off something that should be (and in most cases is) illegal.

You guys can do whatever you want with your money and your time. I’m just saying, the game would be better if more people started playing the video game instead of watching the streamer do it.

I’m saying that streamers should be treated like every other player in Azeroth. It’s unfair they get all the goodies while everyone else has to pay for it, no matter how long they’ve played the game.

It’s unfair that they get free carries, free battle pets, free lootboxes while everyone else has to spend ludicrous amounts of money for all three of these.

Streamers are the P2W players of WoW, where companies pay the streamer, and players who don’t stream are always at a severe disadvantage.

Completely unfair, and shouldn’t be in the game.

if you make less money than the average streamer , you should take a hard look at your career choices

There are streamers who sit in a room all day playing video games who make more in a year than you would make in a lifetime. Think about that.

Someone has been watching Asmongold videos.

I only saw the title.

He makes millions and gets free stuff, despite having the millions to actually pay for it.

Then we pay for his lifestyle habits and we have to pay for the same lootbox.

We have to spend money and he gets it all for free while making more in a lifetime than we would even make in a year doing actual work.

A rising tide lifts all boats my friend.

Because they function as an essentially free advertising platform for developers. It’s not rocket science.

He’s over watching videos and playing Elden Ring and still gets the free lootbox.
I actually farmed rep and got geared.

So unfair. They give more to players who don’t play their game than they do players who actually play this.

If we want to get in to specifics then he also runs a company and an organisation on the side. You have also personally lost nothing from his existence apart from the time spent manifesting your envy over someone being richer than you.

Side note, his success online allowed him to become the full time carer for his now deceased mother.

Yeah, enjoy working your 9-5 while there’s someone in their mom’s attic laughing at how you don’t even make a fraction as to what he makes.

Then tell me when you’re having to stress about your mortgage and utility bills that your efforts are worthwhile when there’s someone playing video games on camera and making a fortune.

“I’m miserable so I want everyone else to feel my pain!”

I am not 15 yo to be jealous of this. we are grown people to believe that this is any kind of success compared to other occupations. I can name you multiple bad things about a professional streamer, and let’s not forget that you only see the success and not how many fail

I want you to tell me the qualifications that are required to be a “professional streamer”, and why they deserve the salary a heart surgeon makes.

Their job is equivalents to a clown in a circus, a comedian at a talk show . They make money entertaining ppl . Not sure why you are jelly about them

I believe everyone should boycott streamers and the companies who support them.

Why don’t you turn yourself as a streamer to get these advantages?

Their salary is determined the same way a professional athlete’s salary is determined, through how many people they bring in to watch them play. One is paid proportionate to their skill set’s value, the other is paid according to how well they can entertain people.

Ironically the chat entertains more than the streamer. Most of the time, the chat is entertaining the streamer. So where’s my cut?

Also, professional athletes train and put their body to their absolute limit to achieve what they do. Anyone can turn on a camera and play video games. Only a select few people in the world can achieve what an NFL player or an Olympic athlete does.

People pay for entertainment.

Their fans want to be acknowledged and engage with their favourite streamer, so they offer free services or items.
A perk of being genuinely liked (parasocially or not).

Advertising/incentive to remain loyal to the game.
