I fully expected servers that were still layered on Monday to have queues today with the layer merge.
What I WASN’T expecting was that servers that had already been reduced to one layer weeks ago, now suddenly have queues.
Why does Skeram, a server that’s been operating on a single layer for over a week, suddenly have queues? Other servers merging their layers shouldn’t have affected Skeram at all. In fact, the server list says Skeram is “High,” not “Full.”
I can only surmise that Blizzard stealth-reduced the number of people that can logon to a server at a time, which is a HUGE problem. This reduces the number of people out and about in the world, the number of people to form groups with, everything is going to be worse starting today if you were on a big (but not layered) server.
The simple answer is that there are likely players coming back from BFA land to jump back into classic today since honor is now in. Also they may have lowered realm caps. Or a combination of the 2.
Thursday, November 14 – PVP Honor System and World Bosses
At 11:00 a.m. PST on Thursday, the update will occur for all realms in this region. The PvP Honor system will come online, and it will become possible for Azuregos and Kazzak to spawn.
I suspect that blizzard FINALLY realized that P2 would be disastrous if they did not address the comical faction imbalance on realms first. If they had an ounce of sense, these queues would be faction specific.
You don’t even need faction-queues, just they should’ve implemented faction-transfers a while ago. Leaving servers like Skeram open to free transfers from both factions for over a month ensured that the server would hemorrhage the alliance player base.
Yes the transfers should have been faction specific from the beginning. Damage is done. HOWEVER if they do not make the queues faction specific, they are simply pissing all over the minority factions who can neither log in or transfer once in.
