I rarely roleplay. I play female characters because I like their animations overall better than the male animations for many things. If I do wind up roleplaying on a female toon, I never do ERP, because that is just absurd. Roleplaying as a female as opposed to a male outside of anything that is sexual is pretty much the same… just gotta change some of the mannerisms a bit and refer to yourself as a girl instead of a guy.
Why do you care? WoW in both forms is a MMO, not a dating service. Take a cold shower.
Yeah, I play the game in first person like everyone else!
Some men find Women attractive, and asserting themselves into the role of a Woman allows them to choose how they want that Woman to act in their heads.
Granted it’s not as creepy as I just described, most of the times anyway.
I know, I know…Sunday thread. But, who is roleplaying? I play female characters because I think they look better.
Aesthetics. I will never play a male Panda or a female Tauren because I don’t like the way they look. I also will never play a short race.
Ah, the weekly female character post.
Because I want!
Because I can!
And because I prefer women on my monitor.
I find the female models, of some races, more beautiful in my eyes.
What’s the problem? Is this threatening someone’s masculinity?
People play as ugly orcs, clumsy trolls and hideous forsakens. Basic humans? We have many.
We all play with something that we are not really.
Why do you play a male character? I mean, at the end of the day, its either the butt excuse, or the big muscles excuse.
Pick your poison…
I’m a dude who has been playing female characters in WoW since 2009. A dark iron dwarf is the first male character I ever got to max level in this game.
Someone asks this about every month or so…i wonder are you people expecting some grand explanation or something beyond just aesthetics?
Also why do YOU care what people play?
In online games, I don’t. I could, as I like making stories for my characters, but I don’t.
In another online game, there was a race whose male version looked SO bad and the female so cool that I made it female. So, so, so many horny whispers were bothersome. Things got even crazier when the boyfriend of a friend also sent them not knowing it was me.
Left the toon. It sickened me, lol.
Only game I play females is pokemon.
No I’m not constantly looking at my male character’s bubble butt, I swear!!
Weirdboys, all of em
When I started playing it was because of the animations. The male animations were simply poorly done.
Over time, I had more female character than males. I found it easier to create backstories for them and to get into roleplay with these characters.
Now, I do it just to upset people who are locked into gender norms of the turn of the 19th century and get their sensibilities hurt when it is suggested that masculinity can be toxic or that people might not identify as strictly male or female.
Why does it matter what other people do as long as it doesn’t hurt anybody or effect you? While I don’t play female characters I don’t care if other people do.
Dudes feel more badass to play as. Rolling female feels weird. Also my character is suppose to be an alternate version of myself, I aint a woman so…
Personally I have I think one or two female characters. There are some I want to roleplay as my stories. However I don’t pretend to be female, and I block all chat from anyone when I play them. I want no part of scamming, being thought a female in game, leading people on etc. They are purely solo characters.
Also for me personally I like the armor on them better than on some male characters. Human males are too buff, so I might switch back to night Elf and void elves going forward to not have to worry about either side. I don’t like looking at them because they are female as I have no interest in that. I do it purely for role playing as characters in my stories and armor looks. Nothing else.
so i can get more loot
I had to stop playing on Moon Guard for basically this reason, lmao. I joined the server before I made the pretty much permanent switch to horde, because I had heard a lot of good things about its PvE scene. I am a male IRL that mostly plays female toons due to aesthetic, (I.E., casting/attacking animations looking better on female models than the male models in my opinions) and I rarely roleplayed. If I was incredibly bored, sure. I would go sit in a bar and RP about past adventures my toon had been on or something, or maybe even join an ongoing RP event in a different zone. But just passing through Gold Shire would net me whispers like “Hey, wanna do this obscene act? I’ll give you 30k ;)” Not to mention basically every raiding guild I joined had people with almost cringy kinks that they were very open about… like wearing diapers…
If I ever go back to that server, I think I will need to have myself on DnD saying “I’m actually a guy and I don’t ERP at all.” but that’d get weird to my real ID friends who whisper me… lmfao.
