Because playing a female character does not indicate said person will roleplay it as such? For most players it’s just an aesthetic option, I know that’s all it is for me.
i could never play a female even though ive tried, but they do have good animations. plus female orcs remind me of male humans. i also wish NE males had the female NE casting animations
shirtless probs.
This was my inner guess as well. XD Some one was probably giving gold and helping another player with dungeon runs because he thought it was a girl behind that female avatar. Then either the player corrected the assumption in casual chat or voice chat came along and his illusion was shattered XD
Me personally, I’m fine with other people assuming I’m a guy since part of me thinks a lot of players believe the silly 'women don’t play WoW"/ “Guy. In. Real. Life” memes. Though one of the funniest experiences I ever had in wow was during Wrath. I was doing trial of the grand crusader with my guild and the RL was doing a ready check over ventrilo and after I chimed in with my ‘ready’. The room went dead silent followed by “Wait a minute, who’s the chick?” lol
It just depends on what race I’m playing. I love nelf lore and the matriarchal culture. I’ve always loved powerful women characters. When I play a male nelf I feel like a doofus bc of their animations and weird body shape.
Blood Elves/Void elves however are different. The males have proportional bodies and honestly look more like the average human than the actual human males do.
Record scratch
On my first female character in WoW, probably my Human Paladin, a random trade window opened, and green gear started pouring into it. I immediately close it, as I don’t really need help in the game, and the window opens again. When I close it a second time, I just get a whisper, “I can’t use this stuff, and you can. Please take it.” So, when the window opens the third time, I accept the gear, and he goes on his way. I’ll never really know if he just found the first random character for that gear type, or if it was the female avatar.
Probably been said before, but most of the male models don’t look all that great, which on Horde isn’t as big an issue IMO because Horde, outside a few select races are supposed to be the “monstrous” faction. Alliance on the other hand is supposed to be the more visually appealing faction, but some of the male models look just downright weird and disproportionate.
I like tiddies.
The ankles.
all my chars are based on one of two (or possibly both) reasons:
- the gear looks better on a female character - so i create a female character
or - the name I decided upon fits a female better - so i create a female character.
Smaller silhouette makes it easier to see ground effects.
- IT’s a video game
- Male or female doesnt really matter on a video game, it is a character not me.
- Female void elf looks way Cooler, same in other races.
Armor looks better with tots
More importantly, why do you care what gender someone else’s pixels present as?
you don’t mean tatter tots.
If only I could replace o with i.
What happen you started to flirt with someone and he was a dude?
Then it’s a bonus!
Could’ve just been a random nice person (those do exist), but usually someone will whisper and ask if you’d like/need the gear first. Though I know people joke about finding a girlfriend/significant other through wow (hey, if you want to date, finding a fellow nerd who won’t rage if you spend too long on a game you both play is a smart choice), it does happen. One of my friends from high school literally met her husband playing WoW. They’d been friends in-game for a while and finally the subject of where they lived came up and it turns out they lived about twenty minutes away from each other XD
