So, I wanted to take a break and level, then play, something that didn’t have hard cast times. Made a Kul Tiran Death Knight and tried to decide on a blinged out set to strut around in, maybe even to eventually show off in my transmog thread. But ye gods; I spent an hour trying to throw stuff together and so many of their sets are just so bad or are hard to customize with non-set pieces. Especially their PvP ones.
I don’t know if this is just because they aren’t designed well for the KT frame and some stuff are getting too stretched and thus look painted on or ugly or what.

I never was a fan of DK sets in general. Too much plate and not enough cloth to get that grim reaper/nazgul look.
I think the current set is badass tho especially the elite pvp one. Love the white and red color.

Yeah, the new one is one of the few I solidly love.

I like a lot of them, but then again beauty of is the eye of the apiarists
In the eye of the…beekeeper? What?
A lot of dk sets are pretty cool.
Just they can get boring with skulls, spikes, and chains being the main theme.
But, like, I spent an hour and half man.
Tried mixing up the PvP set from BFA, tried what I had from Maldraxxus for plate (that is totally a DK set, fight me), tried to make things work with the head and chest piece PvP set for Sepulcher, etc.
DK sets suffer the worst from Blizzard’s tendency to use very specific colors for every tier set. This can make matching set and offset pieces really hard. Impossible, at times.
It’s especially annoying with blacks and other dark colors. They just never mesh right
It’s also annoying with golds. Incorporating the Lightforged heritage armor into any other set is not gonna happen

A lot of the better dks sets come from raids. I mean look at the next raid. Especially lfr. You def can make a vampire like set with using that and venthyr plate stuff

Unfortunately, when I have played Plate for the few times I have, it was for some very specific looks. I have such a huge chunk of stuff for that Arthas look-a-like from Legion, for example. Which, goes with like absolutely nothing else. Another one I wasted so much time yesterday trying to get work with off set pieces.
Their entire theme is based on death , decay and rot. Its not suppose to look nice and pleasing
Heard you like blue armor with skulls. So we’re gonna make that your tier and pvp sets for the next 15 years.
The solution is to get a look you like, make sure the colors are somewhat similar.
Then throw on the heartsbane curse toy. Lasts an hour, no cool down. Makes you look evil.
There’s nothing wrong with that aesthetic. The problem is when the sets are so internally hard coded that you just can’t mix stuff.
I’ve made such amazing…wait a hot second, maybe try remaking my Argent Crusade Windwalker’s look with Plate?
Fat races suffer from stretched out textures.

The emerald nightmare set is fantastic. I highly recommend it for Kul Titans.
That was a typo, but I’m not fixing it.
DK armor design is insanely hit-or-miss. Most of their sets in WotLK were good, but then they started getting travesties like their sets from BWD, Firelands, ToT, SoO, and VotI that often have goofy-looking helmets because it’s apparently hard to come up with a few good undeath-themed sets every expansion. My favorite DK sets would have to be the ones from MSV/HoF, HFC, Nighthold, Antorus, Sepulcher, and Amirdrassil, but the Necrolord plate still looks good on most races and fits them thematically.
get the tier 3 helm and shoulders from the warrior old nax set
