I’ve played most classes and they almost all feel powerful at max level. They each have their own special powers that make them feel unique.
Except Shaman.
Enhancement? It’s just a watered down more squishy Fury warrior.
Elemental? It’s just a Fire mage with less mobility and no shields and weaker procs.
Resto? Just play a Druid lol.
Heroism doesn’t even make them special anymore because 3 other classes have it now.
When is Blizzard going to make shamans feel stronger than wet blankets?
Shaman damage generally isn’t too bad. Outside of large AoE pulls. Having capped AoE is a pretty big hinderance in some M+ dungeons.
It’s the lack of utility and survivability that makes shamans not great.
Resto shaman is nothing like resto druid though so I don’t know why you’d compare them.
Things aren’t looking great for next expansion though since shaman doesn’t have hero talents yet while every other class does.
I just mean that resto is booty compared to resto druid.
If that’s your argument then why play any healer that’s not resto druid then?
Why play anything that’s not Aug/Veng/Rdruid/Spriest/Mage??

You could play Monk too, or Holy priest and also have a better time.

My point is the meta constantly shifts and people play the class they like over rerolling every single patch, that’s why people play rsham
For some context I mained shaman for 10 years, I simply quit because the ele talent trees are terrible, resto has insane button bloat and enhance is clunky
I love rShamn and have played for awhile. But the Devs neglect this class constantly.
I think enh is in a good spot. Gunna suck to lose our tier set though. We probably arent great at really high levels but idk my scrubby sham still pulls ahead of most people i play with.
Resto druid doesn’t have a 12 second ranged interrupt, doesn’t have an AoE stun, doesn’t have an AoE stop, doesn’t have lust.
It also plays completely differently from resto shaman. Shaman is a reactive healer, druid is a preemptive healer.
Yes, druid is meta, but it’s a completely different type of healer.
More or less how I feel about it at this point. I want to love my Elemental Shaman as much as I did previously, but the class doesn’t feel fun to play anymore.
Ice Fury hasn’t ever been fun to me and I absolutely abhor the model of Ascendance builds.
big disagree, elemental is fun and its good atm, use your totems smartly, fake cast then hex and heal yourself, run the stormkeeper build and damm big burst damage with lightining effects and big elemental meteor

I’d rather play Ele than Fire Mage. I despise Fire Mage. And Ele plays nothing like Fire Mage.
How you managed to equate these two I have no idea. They’re entirely different types of healing.

Totems are a defining characteristic of the Shaman and its power from what I recall.
