Is it a superiority complex thing? I see threads saying that mythic+ doesn’t deserve to drop mythic gear, because mythic raids should be the hardest form of content in the game.
Now, I really just RP but isn’t mythic+ hard? Why should raids hold precedence over dungeons?

raiders don’t all share a giant hive mind.

The hivemind is instructing me to disagree with that statement.
But in all seriousness, i personally dont like pushing keys, but that’s just because I loathe doing trash and that’s pretty much the main feature of M+

I only hate it because timers bring out the worst in people.

Granted, I don’t Mythic raid because my realm is garbage, but I enjoy both forms of content.

Raid loggers hate having to do anything outside their raid.
Forum mythic raiders hate the fact that mythic raids don’t always drop upgrades. They usually blame LFR heroes though, not mythic+.

Raiding has always been the source of the highest gear in the game. That is now being challenged.
What’s hilarious is how Mythic raiders can flaunt around like they’re top dogs when in reality being good at raiding does not correspond to being good in M+.

For me, it’s a matter of how quickly gear is obtained in the game right now.
It’s not so much that I dislike M+. Rather, +10s are not equivalent to Heroic raids and yet drop equal loot, with a Titanforge guaranteed at the end of the week. That’s what I hate about M+. I have no problem if it drops gear equal to raiding, but it should be equivalent difficulty. I stand by +13 or even +15 should be Heroic loot and beyond that would be Mythic.
Because of M+, we finish the raids faster than before. Which means we run out of content to do faster than before. And even if I don’t run them, my teammates do. So we’re easily able to out gear the content in no time, and bosses die easier and faster. Which isn’t necessarily bad, but if we all cap out on loot and we’ve cleared the content, there’s nothing to be gained from running it anymore. So people no longer want to raid. Sure, it’s fun. But running the same content for 3 months after you’ve already obtained AotC loses the fun factor very quickly, especially when the most you can hope for is a socketed piece that also Titanforges (which brings up my hatred of RNG).
But yeah, essentially I dislike M+ because you get equal rewards for far less effort. And that rubs me the wrong way.

A lot of raiders are not good at Mythic+.
Mythic gear is difficult to obtain, but it’s not like they’re handing out Mythic Gear.
Mythic 15 is a challenge and well deserved gear next patch.

Yeah, I’m glad they upped it. Just got a decent group reformed and we’re looking forward to being rid of Beguiling too.

Hello, I am a heroic raider. Heroic drops 430 ilvl gear, with a reasonably low drop rate and even lower titanforges. Meanwhile, I breeze through a +10 once per week for way better gear. So I would say better gear from easier content is a bad thing.

For some, it’s because their little club is dying. Nobody except people with too much time on their hands wants to spend 2 weeks farming a boss on 150 plus wipes to get that one moment of euphoric glory. Nobody sane that is. We have an alternative way to progress our characters now, and the raid or die mantra is finally have a large chink exposed in their armor. The path of least resistance follows electricity. You’ll also find that true with humanity.

I hate mythic plus for the reason there is a timer. If I could just get up and jump into a +17 and spend the next 2 hours in that with guild/friends that would be great. But im forced into the speed run mentality even tho all I want is harder content not a race. Also Raids should be offering the best rewards not dungeons.

Yeah, and it kinda sucks for people who are in that little club. No one likes to see their friends slowly stop logging on. No one likes to see their guild die.

Nah, I like both.
Granted Heroic pleb here.
I personally do not hate M+ and enjoy it. The biggest problem was that it was too easy to get M+ equivalent gear. +10 cache is easier than doing the first m+ boss. It’s also cheaper if you’re buying a 10 run.

Honestly going to disagree. I’ve seen heroic raiders that are absolute garbage at M+. People with AOTC, just because you’re a good raider doesn’t mean you’re good at M+. I think that this is at least to me a false premise that I have to disagree on.
Being good at m+ requires knowing:
- Base dungeon mechanics
- Every single affix and how they interact with the above
- Paths based on the above that change weekly because of how the interactions work
- How to gauge your group to keep things moving quickly without killing
- what are the ways to skip or shorten things
- What otherwise obscure skills do you bring to the table that are situationaly useful.
- How not to stand in Bad ← This is the one most people fail at.
- What’s the priority target
- Can AOE be used
Yeah that’s a lot for some people. I’m fine with it, but as I said above… not everybody is.

Blame blizzard. People are getting burned out on raiding. It’s complicated, mechanics are getting to heavy handed and the forced 20 mythic raiding are not allowing for flexibility for the inevitable falloff from new expansions.

Why? What makes raiding so special? Do raiders pay 80% of the sub fees? Why should people be forced to raid to progress their gear?
