Why do PvPers feel like they need to stroke their ego?

Especially in randoms, went against a 2k+ team in a random BG, which of course they automatically wiped our team as its just a bunch of randoms that barely PvP. With them t-bagging bodies, emoting at everyone and so forth, like come on have some dignity. This is also why the PvP side of wow is considered to be the most toxic part of the community overall.

Are you sure you are Horde?

Usually it is Alliance getting steamrolled…

Yeah, it was a literal 2k+ cr alliance group that was in there and they of course mopped the floor given there’s no way to contest against that if you don’t know how to PvP well.

Bring unsportsmanlike is just how random BGs be sometimes OP. It’s a bummer, but it is what it is.

I love it when they come into m0’s and complain the healer isn’t healing them… when they are dying to avoidable mechanics.

Cuz there’s other people there that can feel things, unlike in PvE where it’s just bots. (No I don’t do it myself, but that’s normally why people be mean - to get a reaction)

Meh.

It’s all they got.

This is common in almost any online game, especially First Person Shooters.

If it makes you feel better my flag of ownership is macro’ed to abilities, its nothing personal

Same for emotes the odd times i use them

what else are we gonna stroke?

Do you know how I know a BG is going to hell in handbasket? When I am in the top 20% list on the damage meter…

Because in PvP you’re “outplaying” another player. it makes people get competitive and they want to show you that they’re beating you, although it may become toxic as in t-bagging and whatnot.

Because it’s fun.

Don’t think it’s just PvP.

But mostly youthful pea-cocking with a little too much self worth invested into a video game.

I’ve been in far more toxic m+ runs than. Anything else. Pvp is the best part of the game. There are a holes in every part of it not just pvp. If you are a casual pvper go with lots of friends make it fun

My theory is that super-competitive people tend to be super-toxic. And guess what very competitive people like do? PvP.

They get off on personally beating another player and then like to rub it in as much as possible. Especially if you are Alliance and have to deal with Horde-biased BG maps all the time.

ask every competitive sporting person in all of existence as they talk crap in those as well

reason video game versions have more toxicity is that they have the cloak of anonymity and don’t have to worry about being shunned in their own community

Competition and banter go hand in hand

Unfortunately, it’s usually people who’ve never had a competitive outlet in the real world on games. Their expression of this spirit is a little awkward.
