Seriously what is the attraction ?
I was asked by a guildie to tank a PuG, and before i could reply someone else told them “don’t ask the guild tanks to do pugs”.
I lol’ed hard, as did the guild including the person who asked, but it got me thinking, as i have always mained a warrior since '05 and its been about that long since i pugged, why do people pug regularly ?
Bonus question - does having one person who is a random mean its a pug then ?

Why do instanced content in an open world game?

ugh…because you can’t always form a guild group right at that moment? You can always form a pug. and 9 times out of 10 I don’t really have any problems with a pug.

You don’t have to go exclusively guidies to not pug though.
And what about that 1 time in 10 when pugs turn bad ? … It leaves you feeling like you’ve helped someone who least deserved it.

If I had to rely on guildies/people on friend list to run whatever I wanted to at that moment I’d never be doing any dungeons. I understand not wanting to pug some raids but dungeon pugs are fine. even in retail when I played up to end of season 1 BFA, I’d pug my mythic+ runs up to 13 - 14 just fine.

Many times PuG players are better than guildies.
I think guild players pretend they are equal to “family”, in a sense that they have a larger room for error and you won’t punish them as hard for performing poorly.
