Premades win because no matter how many times you say “Focus the healer” in a pickup group everyone still manages to tunnel vision the warrior.
This is the biggest issue pugs face. Whenever I’ve gone into an AB/WSG people are talking about what to do in the likely scenario of a premade, and when the match starts and everyone sees that, surprise surprise, it’s a premade some people just check out immediately, and others will check out after we it becomes apparent the premade isn’t just a hodgepodge of players. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Premades win because:

Terrific group composition
-
Better gear (typically fully raid geared or rank 12-13)

Good communication with a leader or two calling the shots

Lots of reps together as a team/know how each other play

Willingness to use consumables
Combine those factors with the alternative situation for pugs and you get why premades roll pugs most of the time.

Focus fire and kill them and those buffs are gone. The buffs help, but they’re not a crutch. Premades tend to win 100% because of organization, vs a pug with 3 people competing with each other for lead, 5 fighting on the road while the other team is capping flags, and the rest convinced that you have to protect stables at all costs.
Indeed, it’s not a matter of git gud for pugs vs premades the game is simply stacked in favor of premades.
