Why do people want worgen tails? Werewolves don't have tails

I keep seeing it mentioned around that people want the worgen race to have tails, however in stories about werewolves they generally do not have tails. Giving worgens tails breaks the immersion of them being werewolves so I can see why Blizzard hasn’t opted for this.

I think there have been pictures of Worgen showed with tails in the hearthstone game. It looks nice really. It wouldn’t break any immersion in the game imo either. The Worgen are actually afflicted by a Druidic curse and the druid forms tend to all have tails.

So it’s doesn’t have to be traditional necessarily. They have their own lore.

I just Googled ‘Werewolf’ and got a bunch of images of werewolves with and without tails. So if people want Worgen with tails, more power to them.

There’s no universal right or wrong when it comes to fantasy and mythological creatures.

Mine has a tail… he just tucks it down his pant leg.

Edited. I take too many vacations.

Furries. that’s it. that’s all.

Worgen do not have tails in WoW.

The idea, to my knowledge, was introduced in the book Before the Storm. The author had given Genn a tail by accident.

Since then I think some folks just want it cause they want it.

Unsure if it ever was a request prior to that incident.

Ahm,they do have tails unless i seen something else dropped :flushed:

You don’t think they would look better? From the back playing one all you see a big mane sticking out of the back of your helm. I think it would offer a little more interest on the back of the model. Especially the female. Their shape isn’t as good as the males, the males look like monsters!

And their lore is that they never had tails in this game.

Yep, and then quickly said that the editing missed it and Worgen don’t have tails in this universe.

No, I think they’d look terrible with tails. I’m not playing some cute little Husky. I’m playing a fierce werewolf. I’m tired of Worgen being turned into some cute cartoon furry thing, personally.

It could be an easy alternative option for Worgens, have it add to creation screen and barbershop. Not any different from added jewelry or cosmetics.

Wolves have tails … why wouldn’t a werewolf have some sort of tail ? Our view of what a werewolf might look like is heavily influenced by movies… this is the universe of World of War craft… the werewolves here could totally have tails. Heck for that matter humans have tails , if short ones … and if you think you don’t … fall on your rump and bruse or break your tail bone , you will become keenly aware of the fact that you have a tail.

I don’t have a tail

There are plenty of werewolves that do have tails. Tails are not a prerequisite part of being a werewolf, but plenty of werewolves have them.

It should be an option at least.

I’m personally not a big fan of tails. With that said, as long as it’s an optional customization, I don’t see any reason why not to add it. If it was a forced addition I wouldn’t be too happy.

“The appearance of a werewolf in its animal form varies from culture to culture, though it is most commonly portrayed as being indistinguishable from ordinary wolves save for the fact that it has no tail (a trait thought characteristic of witches in animal form), is often larger, and retains human eyes and a voice.”

Sure. But each werewolf myth has its own lore and its own look. This universe was specifically stated to have no tails as part of their lore. I personally hope they don’t give into this tail business like they did with Helfs. It’ll ruin Worgen for me.

To add a tail to the worgen model would require them to append it to the skeletal framework and animate it which is probably more work than Blizzard is willing to do for just an additional character option. However if you give them $15 they might be more inclined.

This is the reason why Wikipedia is not a substitute for education.

Why, because it doesn’t align with what you choose to believe?
